On 12/24/25, I responded to code 1 routine response for an assault at [200 BLOCK] Tia Ln. Upon arrival, I met with the victim, [VICTIM #1]. Mr. [VICTIM #1] spoke Spanish, but a neighbor translated.
He advised that he was in a verbal dispute with his niece when he turned around and was hit in the back of the head with an object. He had an approximately 1-inch gash with bleeding controlled to the top left side of his head.
I made contact with the suspect Aguirre Castille. She confirmed that she and her uncle [VICTIM #1] were in a verbal dispute. She said he was yelling at her, and that when he turned around, she took a metal paper towel holder and struck him on the side of the head. She stated that after hitting him, she grabbed a kitchen knife and chased [VICTIM #1] around and out of the house. [VICTIM #1] went to a neighbor’s house to contact 911. [VICTIM #1] was checked out by EMS and transported to Athens Regional for care.
Inside the home, in the living room, blood was found on the floor, pillow, and table. Aguirre took Dep. Catapano to the backyard and showed him where to find the paper towel holder, which was stained with blood.
Aguirre Castille was advised she was under arrest for Aggravated assault family violence, handcuffed behind her back, double locked, and checked for fit.
Aguirre Castille was searched for contraband and weapons before being placed in the back seat and transported to the BCSO jail. The back seat was searched for contraband and weapons before and after transport, and no contraband or weapons were found. Aguirre Castillo was handed over to jail staff. [VICTIM #1] was given a case number and a family violence pamphlet before transport by EMS. The paper towel holder was placed in evidence at BCSO.
Probable cause developed during this investigation supported the issuance of the following warrant against Aguirre Castille
OCGA 16-5-21 (I) Aggravated assault family violence, family violence, Aguirre Castille admitted during the argument. [VICTIM #1] turned around, and she struck him with a paper towel holder on the side of his head, causing an approximately 1-inch laceration.
