[NARRATIVE #1 on December 30, 2025]
On 12/30/2035, I Deputy Ciucci was on general patrol in Barrow County when I heard via radio of deputies on scene of a warrant service call out that there were shots fired. I responded to the location with a “Code Three” response (emergency blue lights and siren).
Upon arrival, I observed a sufficient number of officers rendering aid to the suspect and began identifying and securing evidence on scene until I was requested by Dep. Catapano to ride in the back of the med unit with the suspect. I rode on the med unit to Northside (Gwinnett) Hospital. Upon arrival into a room, I secured the suspect’s clothing that was removed via hospital staff. I was also requested by Capt. Almond to photograph the suspect’s injuries. I then remained with the suspect until relieved by Dep. Kelly. All photographs and the suspect’s clothing was turned over to GBI agent who responded to the hospital.

[NARRATIVE #2 on December 30, 2025]
On December 30th, 2025, at approximately 1001 hours, I initiated a warrant service at [500 BLOCK] Mt. Moriah Road, regarding a warrant attempt. Teresa Campbell has several active felony warrants in three different counties, including Barrow County, and resides at this address. Due to my past interactions at this address, including narcotics and wanted people, I requested Sgt. Scott and his K9 partner assist.
Upon arrival, Sgt. Scott was speaking with a male in a black BMW in the driveway. I made contact with Henry Dixon at the front door of the trailer. Henry told me he was the only person in the residence. I asked Henry if we could search the residence for Teresa. Henry granted us consent to search. Sgt. Scott and I turned left and began walking through the house, while Deputy McCurry checked the bedroom to the right.
While looking for Teresa, [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] were located in one of the bedrooms. Neither had warrants and were released. Deputy McCurry asked me to look in the bedroom, where he showed me a bag of a clear, crystal-like substance in plain view. Dep. McCurry attempted to place Henry into handcuffs; Henry initially resisted arrest, but was ultimately taken into custody. Henry was secured in the back seat of McCurry’s vehicle. While exiting the residence, Sgt. Scott advised that an individual was asleep in a black truck with tinted windows in the driveway, a Ram 1500 with Georgia tag [REDACTED].
I knocked on the passenger’s window, where I observed a male with his head down in the driver’s seat. The male, later identified as Jason Holmes, immediately placed the vehicle in drive and proceeded forward. Verbal commands were issued to Jason to put the car into park and stop moving. The male initially raised his hands, then put the truck in reverse, backed into debris, and shifted back forward toward Sgt Scott, who was by the driver’s side. I attempted to break the window with a window punch; however, it was unsuccessful. This time, Deputy McCurry was standing in front of me near the front right bumper area.
Jason again put the vehicle into drive and appeared to drive toward Sgt. Scott then it appeared back toward Deputy McCurry, who was in front of me. Dep. McCurry fired two shots, striking Jason. Due to the risk of crossfire, I withheld from discharging my firearm. Jason immediately raised his hands and exited the truck. Jason was placed on the ground, where he was secured in handcuffs. After securing Jason, I located a gunshot wound on his right hand. I immediately put a tourniquet on Jason’s upper arm to stop the bleeding. Additionally, I located a graze wound on one of Jason’s legs; however, it was bruised and not bleeding.
EMS was started and arrived on scene promptly. EMS transported Jason to Northside Gwinnett for treatment. The scene was turned over to CID and the GBI.
Lt. Kraus secured warrants on the two arrestees. The narcotics were collected and entered into evidence.
Deputy F. Bradley also located methamphetamine on Cody Clark, who was also on scene. See his case supplemental report for more information.

[NARRATIVE #3 on December 30, 2025]
I was advised by my supervisor to write this report due to clearing the residence.
I responded code 3 to [500 BLOCK] Mt Moriah RD in reference to shots fired during a warrant attempt. Upon arrival I located the person that had been shot and saw he was being tended to by multiple Deputies, and I ensured all Deputies and other parties were ok and no one else needed medical care. I was advised that everyone else was okay, but I had learned that people still were inside the residence.
I along with other Deputies cleared the residence and located two individuals in the living room, they both were secured and escorted out of the residence. I continued clearing the residence to ensure no other people were located inside, none were found. The residence was secured and I continued other duties on scene.

[NARRATIVE #4 on December 30, 2025]
On December 30th, 2025, while patrolling in the area of Highway 211 NW and Mulberry Rd I was alerted to Barrow County Deputies calling “shots fired” while on a warrant attempt at [500 BLOCK] Mt. Moriah Rd, Auburn, GA, 30011. I responded, “code three” (emergency response) in my marked patrol vehicle (2369) and arrived on scene.
While the other deputies were securing other suspects on scene, K-9 Officer Scott (Auburn PD) asked that I watch one of the suspects, Cody Alen Clark, that was handcuffed, seated in his vehicle bearing GA tag [REDACTED]. Officer Scott took the handcuffs off Clark and let him sit in his vehicle while waiting on EMS to attend to him. Scott was hyperventilating and in shock at what occurred prior to my arrival.
Scott declined medical attention, stating that he was fine, just shocked. I was told by Lt Wilkerson to place Clark in the back of my car for questioning and so we would not contaminate the crime scene.
Clark gave consent to search his person, stating without provocation that he had meth and a meth pipe. I searched Clark, only finding a small multi color wrapping containing methamphetamine. Clark stated the pipe in his underwear must have fallen out prior to the search. No weapons or other drugs were found upon my search.
I handcuffed Clark with his hands to the rear, ensuring proper fit and double locking the handcuffs. I placed Clark in the back of my marked patrol car and transported him to Barrow County Detention Center, turning him over to intake deputies without further incident.
A search was conducted of my backseat before and after transport, conducting negative results for drugs, contraband, or weapons. I charged Clark with OCGA 16-13-30(a) Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance:
Schedule I, Possession of Methamphetamine. Clark did state that he was in possession of meth. A wrapped quantity measuring at .5 grams was found in his right pocket.

[NARRATIVE #5 on December 30, 2025]
On 12-30-2025, I went to [500 BLOCK] Mount Moriah Rd in Alburn with my field training officer, Deputy Catapano, to attempt to serve an Arrest Warrant on a female at the location with whom Deputy Catapano had previous contact with. He advised me that this residence was known to be associated with narcotics use and frequented by people with active warrants. He also stated that Auburn PD would be assisting us at the location.
Upon arrival, I pulled my patrol car into the driveway and got out. I noted that Auburn PD was making contact with a male individual in a vehicle in the driveway. I noticed that the property was in disarray. As we approached the Mobile home, I saw a dark-colored truck parked next to it, and a camper next to that. I approached the home’s front door with Deputy Catapano. He knocked on the door to make contact with someone in the home. Deputy Catapano then asked me to cover the rear of the house. I walked around to the rear of the home and stood on a hill where I could see most of the windows and a rear door. I heard what sounded like Deputy’s still attempting to contact someone inside. From where I was, I could still see an officer with Auburn PD talking to the male in the car at the front of the driveway.
After what seemed like a few minutes, I could hear movement inside the home and tell that Deputy Catapano and others had made it inside. I continued to stand by on the back side till I could hear raised voices and commotion inside the home. I then moved to the front of the house. As I came back around to the front, I could see Deputy Catapano and Deputy McCurry Walking with a Black male who was handcuffed behind his back. He was verbally defiant and was giving them a hard time getting him into the back of Deputy McCurry’s Patrol car.
After securing the male, Deputy Catapano asked me to go watch and stand by the camper. As I was standing by the camper, I noticed SGT Scott with APD standing at the front driver’s side of the Dark truck I stated earlier. SGT Scott called for and motioned at Deputy Catapano. I could tell based on his actions that he had found someone inside the Truck.
I positioned myself between the C and B pillars of the driver’s side. SGT Scott used his hand and knocked hard on the window. As soon as he did, I noticed movement inside the driver’s seat, and the truck lights came on, then the motor started. At this time, I had already drawn my service pistol, and I could see in my peripheral vision that SGT Scott had also drawn his service pistol. SGT Scott, along with the other officers, was giving verbal commands to the driver, who then put the truck in reverse and accelerated backwards at a high rate of speed, running over objects, and then appeared to get the truck stuck.
It was at this time that I could see the male in the front seat for the first time, who had a look of panic and craze about him. As commands continued to be given, the male raised his hands for a split second, then grabbed the wheel and attempted to flee again. I thought to myself, “This was a very tense, dangerous situation, and I was mindful of where I could move if he tried to drive the truck towards me.” I was also watching SGT Scott, as to avoid flagging him, who was in front of me and to my left, as he moved from the front of the subject’s truck to the driver’s side and back.
I was also trying to stay aware of Deputy Catapano and Deputy McCurry’s Locations to avoid a crossfire situation if it escalated to deadly force, which I believed could happen at any moment. Based on the above actions and the subject’s demeanor, I felt he would find a way to get away from me and other officers/deputies in any way possible. To the best I can recall, the male made multiple attempts to continue to back the truck up unsuccessfully.
That’s when the male put the truck in drive and accelerated towards where SGT Scott was. I stepped to the right to put distance between the truck and me and was worried that if I fired, both Deputy Catapano and McCurry would be in crossfire on the other side of the truck. I then heard the shot/shots fired. I remember hearing glass break in addition to gunfire. The truck continued forward at a slower speed, then quickly came to a stop. The male was yelling that he had been shot and exited the truck. I started to move towards the suspect as I holstered my service weapon. Deputy Catapano and I got on top of the suspect, who was now lying on the ground, and took him into custody. I heard someone on the scene already call for EMS. The Suspect was handcuffed behind his back.
Deputy Catapano and I quickly made note of a through-and-through gunshot through the suspect’s right wrist that was bleeding profusely. We both quickly searched the suspect for any weapons, then applied a Torniquet high and tight on the suspect’s right arm, and it immediately controlled the bleeding. We quickly cut off his clothing as I tried to get the suspect to talk to me to see if he had any additional gunshot wounds or injuries I could not yet see. No other injuries were found. I have a medical background, and I attempted to get the suspect to give me his medical history and what other injuries he could have, but he was uncooperative.
Upon the arrival of Barrow EMS med4 and BCFD E-4, I provided them with a report on the suspect’s injuries. I then got into med-4 with another deputy, and at the request of med-4, we moved his handcuffs from his back to the stretcher to assist them in providing care. After exiting the med unit, I was instructed to start a crime scene log, which I did until I was relieved by CID and driven back to BCSO.
