On Monday, December 20, 2021, at approximately 1521 hrs, I observed a blue Dodge Caliber (GA [REDACTED]) being driven by a white male and occupied with a white male front passenger on Atlanta Hwy approaching Wall Rd. I recognized the driver to be the suspect, Justin Brewer. I was able to recognize Justin from previous encounters and a previous arrest that I had made with Justin being the suspect.
I placed GA tag [REDACTED] in GCIC/NCIC. GCIC/NCIC stated that the registration and insurance statuses were valid however GCIC/NCIC gave an alert stating that Justin’s driver’s license was suspended. I initiated a traffic stop on the blue Dodge Caliber due to observing Justin, who I know to have a suspended license, on Atlanta Hwy approaching Wall Rd. Justin turned left into the driveway of the Dunaway Massey Homes located at [1600 BLOCK] Atlanta Hwy. Upon stopping his vehicle, Justin exited his vehicle.
I exited my patrol car and approached Justin. I advised Justin that his license was still suspended and that he was not to be driving due to the suspended license status. I placed Justin under arrest for driving with a suspended license (OCGA 40-5-121). I placed Justin in handcuffs, checked for fit and double lock. I searched Justin incident to arrest. I placed Justin in my patrol car and transported him to the Barrow County Jail without incident. I transferred custody of Justin to the deputies on duty. I checked my backseat before and after transporting Justin and I did not locate any contraband. I issued Justin citation #131097 for driving while license suspended (OCGA 40-5-121).
Justin’s passenger was identified as his brother, [REDACTED]. I was unable to release Justin’s vehicle to [REDACTED] due to [REDACTED] having a suspended license. [REDACTED] contacted his father, and the vehicle was released to [REDACTED]’s father.
Nothing further at this time.
