On May 5, 2026, at approximately 1434 hours I was on routine patrol, driving south on Hog Mountain Road from Atlanta Highway. Dispatch advised via radio to be on the lookout (BOLO) for a small SUV swerving and almost caused several collisions with other motorists. Dispatch advised the vehicle displayed Georgia tag [REDACTED] and driving north on Hog Mountain Road from the county line. I conducted a GCIC/NCIC check on the tag and saw that the tag returned to a purple Subaru Forrester.

At the intersection of Hog Mountain Road at Jackson Trial Road, I saw the BOLO vehicle pass me at the stop sign heading north. I turned around in the intersection and observed the vehicle. On Hog Mountain Road near Bert Day Road the vehicle failed to maintain lane by nearly causing a head on collision with oncoming traffic.

I activated my emergency blue lights and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Hog Mountain Road at Bert Day Road. As I was approaching the driver I saw the vehicle move forward as though the vehicle was not in park. I made contact with the driver who identified herself with her Georgia driver’s license as being Laurie (Macklin) Goudelock.

I told Ms. Goudelock why I stopped her. She apologized and said she was just tired. She further advised she was on her way to the Tree House for a supervised visit with her children. Ms. Goudelock spoke with a thick tongue as she spoke to me. I also saw that her pupils were constricted. I asked Sgt. Wright to be enroute to assist me. I asked her to exit the vehicle and spoke to her in front of my patrol vehicle.

I conducted a GCIC/NCIC check on Ms. Goudelock. I discovered she had a suspended license. I exited my vehicle and asked her about her license. She told me she had a permit to drive to visit her children. I asked her to show me the permit because the only thing I could see was that she was allowed to drive to school, work, and medical. She asked me to get her phone so she could show me on the DDS website. I also asked Ms. Goudelock if she drank any alcohol, took any illegal drugs, or if she took any prescription medications, she advised no to all.

Sgt. Wright arrived during this time. He conducted standardized field sobriety tests and determined that Ms. Goudelock was impaired. The resident of [300 BLOCK] Bert Day Road, [REDACTED], offered to park Ms. Goudelock’s car in her driveway to help her out. Ms. Goudelock gave her permission to move the car. The vehicle was locked and the keys were given to Sgt. Wright.
