On Friday, November 7, 2025, at 1859 hours, I responded Code 1 to the vicinity of Atlanta Hwy SE and Hardigree Rd for a welfare check on a naked black male walking in the roadway.
Auburn PD K9 Officer Scott #807 was in the area and contacted a naked black male, later identified as Mohammed Bashirrudin, on the eastbound shoulder. I arrived with Officer Scott who had his K9 partner out of the vehicle and ordered Bashirrudin to lay on his stomach. Bashirrudin complied and I detained him by placing him in handcuffs that were checked for proper fit. After he was handcuffed, Bashirrudin began to speak non-stop, asking him why he was arrested and stated that he was naked and that I had clothes on. He stated that he was a black man and that I was white. He seemed to be confused as to why he was being detained, as if walking down the street naked was perfectly acceptable. He spoke in a rapid, excited cadence.
I then advised Bashirrudin that he was under arrest for public indecency. Prior to securing him in the back seat of my patrol car, a visual search of his person was conducted for weapons or contraband, and nothing was found. I then placed him in the back seat of my patrol unit and secured him with a seatbelt. I then transported him to the Barrow County Detention Center.
While enroute to the detention center, Bashirrundin’s behavior continued to be excited and he spoke non-stop, saying alternatively that he was both [REDACTED] and that [REDACTED] punched him in the face. He asked if I would take him home. He stated multiple times spontaneously about using [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and at one point stated that he used [REDACTED BY AGENCY] earlier this date.
Prior to exiting the Detention Center, a search of the back seat of my patrol car was conducted for weapons or contraband and nothing was found.
[End of Narrative]
