[NARRATIVE #1 on April 13, 2026]
On April 13, 2026, at approximately 1410 hours, I responded code three (Emergency lights and siren) to [1400 BLOCK] Red Oak Way. Dispatch advised a caller told them a male pulled up to his residence, stating someone had robbed and beaten him. While en route, Dispatch advised that the male had stopped breathing.
Upon arrival, I observed Deputy C. Paz and Deputy J. Pavlovich performing CPR on a subject lying on the ground, who was later identified as [VICTIM #1]. While life-saving measures were being performed, I started asking bystanders what had happened. A man who was later identified as [WITNESS #1] stated that [VICTIM #1] was pulled into a garage later determined to be the address of [1600 BLOCK] White Oak Drive, and beaten by several people. As he was talking to me, he pointed to a black Dodge Challenger and yelled that the driver was one of the suspects. Deputy J. Pavlovich and I conducted a felony stop on the vehicle and detained the driver, identified as Michavius Mayweather. Mayweather was detained for investigative purposes.
After we detained Mayweather, [WITNESS #1] pointed to a Dodge Charger that was passing by and advised that the driver of that vehicle was also one of the suspects. I then got into my patrol vehicle and intercepted the vehicle, and along with other deputies, conducted a felony traffic stop. The driver was detained and identified by his Georgia Driver’s License as Jamarion Lewis. Lewis was advised that at that time, he was being detained. He was placed in the backseat of my patrol car, where he stayed until he was spoken to by Investigators on scene. The scene was then turned over to the Investigators on scene.

[NARRATIVE #2 on April 13, 2026]
On April 13, 2026, at 1412 hours, I responded with lights and sirens “code 3” to [1400 BLOCK] Red Oak Way for what was originally dispatched out as a cardiac arrest. While on the way to the scene, dispatch updated the responding units and said that the male was no longer breathing, and they were giving instructions to the caller on how to do CPR. Dispatch gave responding units another update that was this male was robbed and drug into a garage and beaten up. Other units arrived on scene before me.
When I arrived on scene, I saw Deputy Paz giving chest compressions to [VICTIM #1]. As I exited my patrol vehicle and began to follow an investigator that just arrived on scene, I heard other parties on scene yell and begin pointing towards the intersection of Red Oak Way and White Oak Drive, along with a loud exhaust coming from a Dodge Charger. I was told that the other charger was involved. I returned to my patrol vehicle and drove where the charger went.
Once there, Sergeant Meeler had his pistol out giving loud verbal commands for the driver to exit his vehicle. I got my rifle from my patrol car and moved next to Sergeant Meeler to assist. Once the driver, Jamarion Lewis, was on his knees, as he was instructed to do, Sergeant Meeler placed him in handcuffs. Investigator Crowe and I moved towards the charger to clear the rest of the vehicle to make sure no one else was inside. The charger was cleared including the trunk and no one else was inside. Sergeant Meeler got Jamarion’s driver’s license from his wallet. There was a lot of money inside Jamarion’s wallet. It was not counted at the time Jamarion was detained but it was placed in an evidence bag and placed into Sergeant Meeler’s patrol vehicle. The money was counted later by CSI and investigators. I do not remember the amount that was counted.
Deputy F. Bradley arrived at our location, and I asked if he would sit with the car so I could go back to where [VICTIM #1] was originally, at [1400 BLOCK] Red Oak Way. Once on scene, I assisted CID while they conducted their investigation.

[NARRATIVE #3 on April 13, 2026]
On April 13, 2026, at approximately 1412 hours, I was dispatched to a welfare check originally at [1400 BLOCK] Red Oak Way. The call came out as an individual who had been jumped, and the individual was unconscious. I responded quickly since I was down the street from the location of the call. The incident occured at [1600 BLOCK] White Oak Drive.
Once I arrived at the scene, I saw a group of individuals huddling around a red truck. I exited my patrol car and went to grab the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in the trunk of my patrol vehicle. Once I grabbed it, I ran to the unconscious individual. Deputy Pavlovich (S-114) was assisting with the other people at the scene, putting him on the ground to perform life-saving measures. The unconscious individual was identified as [VICTIM #1].
Once [VICTIM #1] was on the ground, I attempted to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). While I was performing CPR, I was relieved by Deputy Pavolovich for a quick break. While Deputy Pavolovich was performing CPR, I put on the AED pads on [VICTIM #1]. I relieved Deputy Pavolovich for a break, and I performed CPR until medical personnel arrived. Once medical personnel arrived, they relieved me and took over by continuing to perform life-saving measures.
I was relieved by the medical personnel, and they transported him quickly. I finally asked the surrounding individuals who were on scene what had happened since I was no longer giving aid to [VICTIM #1]. I was advised that [VICTIM #1] went to an individual’s house down the street to pick up his truck. When [VICTIM #1] showed the money to the people from whom he was picking up the truck, that’s when he was jumped inside the garage. I spoke briefly with [VICTIM #1]’s brother, who was identified as [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated that he didn’t know the individuals but stated that it was a couple of young boys who jumped [VICTIM #1]. While speaking to [WITNESS #1], that’s when multiple investigators arrived on the scene, including other deputies. The scene was turned over to the investigators for further investigation while I continue to assist.
During the investigation, I was advised to transport Antrevion Gary-Hill and Jamarion Lewis to the Barrow County Detention Center. Antrevion and Jamarion were already detained, so I made sure the handcuffs were properly fitted and double locked. I advised each of them separately that they were under arrest and searched them incident to the arrest. When I searched both individuals, no weapons or drugs were found. I secured both in the backseat of my patrol car and transported them to the Barrow County Detention Center. I turned them both over to the jail staff without any issues. I searched the back seat of my patrol car and found no contraband.
During the investigation, the leading investigator took warrants on Antrevion Gary-Hill, Jamarion Lewis, Robert Arnold, Ezion Edwards, Shurita Davis, and Michavius Mayweather. The leading investigator has taken out warrants on all six individuals for: Murder OCGA (16-5-1), Aggravated Assault OCGA (16-5-21), Robbery OCGA (16-8-40), and Party to a crime OCGA (16-2-20).

[NARRATIVE #4 on April 13, 2026]
On April 13th at 14:13 hours, I self-dispatched myself to a Cardiac Arrest call at [1400 BLOCK] Red Oak Way.
I arrived on scene at 1417. I was able to make contact with the victims nephew. The nephew stated that his uncle had been beaten up. I could see the victim sitting up against the open door of the red truck he was riding in. I then instructed the people who were standing around him to help me lay him flat on the ground. I checked for a pulse and could not feel one. Deputy Paz began performing chest compressions. I then relieved Deputy Paz and started to perform chest compressions. While I was performing chest compressions, Deputy Paz was applying the AED pads to the chest of the victim. At this time, I stood up, and one of the males standing near the red truck pointed down the road towards White Oak Way and stated that the Black Dodge Challenger that was turning up Red Oak Way was part of the attack.
Sgt. Meeler, Investigator Crow, and I started walking towards the vehicle and initiated a Felony stop. I ordered the driver to stop the vehicle and show me his hands. The investigator was able to open the door, and I then placed Mayweather into properly fitted, double-locked handcuffs and informed him that he was being detained. I then read Mayweather’s Miranda Warning, and Mayweather refused to answer any questions about the incident.
Later, I transported two of the suspects to the Detention center. Both Mayweather and Arnold were searched, and nothing was found. Mayweather and Arnold were both placed in properly fitted and double-locked handcuffs behind their backs. My Patrol vehicle was searched before and after transport for contraband, and nothing was found. They were handed over to the Detention Center Deputies without incident.

[NARRATIVE #5 on April 13, 2026]
On April 13, 2026, at approximately 1424 hours, I responded to the area of Red Oak Way in reference to their possibly still being outstanding suspects.
While I was in the area of Emerald Point Dr., Deputy Meagher notified me that she saw an individual lying in a yard. At this point, I turned around and saw a black male wearing all black clothing lying in a wooded section of a yard on his back. I made contact with him and asked if he lived in the neighborhood. He told me that he “Used to”. I then saw multiple cuts on his hands, a rip in his jeans, and lots of leaves and debris in his hair and clothing. At this point, I believed he was involved in the assault that had just occurred. I placed him in a pair of double-locked handcuffs and checked for a proper fit.
I explained to him that he was not under arrest and only detained. He acknowledged to me that he understood. When I tried to ask him what had just occurred and how he was involved, he told me that he did not want to speak with me. I was able to identify the male as Antrevion Gary-Hill. Antrevion gave me consent to search him, and I found no weapons or contraband on him. He did have a phone, a G-shock watch, and a wad of fake $20 bills. I then asked him to get in my car, and I transported him back to the [1400 BLOCK] Red Oak Way address. He was placed in the back of Deputy Paz’s car when I arrived on scene.
I then went to [1600 BLOCK] White Oak Dr with multiple other Deputies. When we arrived on the scene, we were made aware that the assault possibly took place at this location. Due to this, we did a security sweep of the house and secured the scene until CID could get a search warrant. I stayed on scene and made sure it stayed secured until CID arrived with the Search warrant and executed it.

[NARRATIVE #6 on April 13, 2026]
On Monday April 13,2026 I responded code 3 (lights and sirens) to a cardiac arrest at [1400 BLOCK] Red Oak Way. While enroute I learned that the patient advised he had been “jumped” by six to seven people and as Deputies arrived on scene CPR needed to be performed on the patient.
Upon my arrival I learned that three people had been detained and at least one vehicle had been found that was possibly related to the crime. I began looking for people or vehicles that were in the area possibly wearing all black as the three detained people were all wearing black clothing or vehicles that were out of place.
I located a black in color Nissan Altima at the intersection of White oak Drive/ English Oak Lane and advised dispatch that I would be out investigating the vehicle. Upon further investigation I found the vehicle and occupant to not be related to the scene. As I was getting back in my patrol vehicle, I learned that units were approaching the residence of [1600 BLOCK] White Oak Drive where the crime potentially took place and more units were needed to secure the scene and clear the residence.
I was a few feet from the residence and responded, upon my arrival entry was made into the residence after other Deputies had contact with occupants inside the residence. We performed a security sweep on the entire residence to ensure no outstanding suspects remain in the house or any other victims were in the residence. It was determined then that the crime possibly took place in the garage of the residence, and I was assigned to secure the crime scene and ensure no one went into the garage. I sat at the door that led to the garage from inside the residence to ensure the crime scene was not further disturbed until a search warrant was obtained and CID units were ready to process the scene. Once they arrived, I was relieved and left the scene and turned it over to CID units.

[NARRATIVE #7 on April 13, 2026]
While I was on scene with the investigation ongoing, I was advised by [WITNESS #1] that the vehicle that was coming down the road was at the residence where [VICTIM #1] was jumped. Other deputies and I stopped the vehicle. The vehicle was a Silver GMC Yukon bearing a Ga tag [REDACTED]. Three individuals were in the vehicle, later identified as Shurita Davis in the driver’s seat, Ezion Edwards in the passenger seat, and Robert Arnold in the rear passenger seat.
Once I identified them, I asked Shurita where she was coming from. Shurita stated that she was coming from the house. I asked Shurita if she knew what occurred at her residence, and she stated that she didn’t know. I asked Ezion and Robert the same question, and they both stated they don’t know what’s going on. Robert stated that he had just gotten here. I was needed to assist with another matter at the scene, so I turned the vehicle with the individuals to the investigators, and they continued to ask Shurita, Ezion, and Robert questions. I went back to my patrol car to detain a suspect in my patrol car. The individual was identified as Antrevion Gary-Hill. I stayed with my patrol car with the detainee for the duration of the ongoing investigation.

DEFENSE FILES CONSOLIDATED MOTIONS FOR ROBERT JOHN ARNOLD III
What this means: Attorney Zaine Thistle filed a package of pretrial motions on behalf of Robert John Arnold III in Barrow County Superior Court (Case No. 26-PI-0227). Robert John Arnold III is charged with Felony Murder and related offenses. These motions are standard defense requests made early in a case to protect the defendant’s rights and gather information before trial. The filing included the following separate requests:
Demand for Copy of Accusation or Indictment and Witness List — The defense is demanding a copy of the formal charges and a complete list of witnesses the prosecution intends to rely on, including their names, dates of birth, addresses, and phone numbers. This is a right under the Georgia Constitution and state law.
Motion for Discovery — The defense is asking the court to order the prosecution to turn over any and all evidence that could help Robert John Arnold III’s case — including anything that might show innocence, reduce punishment, or be used to challenge the credibility of witnesses. This is based on the legal principle established in *Brady v. Maryland*, which requires prosecutors to share favorable evidence with the defense.
Notice to Produce — The defense formally notified the prosecution to produce specific materials at least ten days before trial, including the full witness list, arrest warrant, search warrant, all arrest-related documents and officer notes, any statements about the defendant’s condition at the time of arrest, scientific or lab reports, audio and video recordings, copies of any rights or Miranda warnings given to the defendant, and the defendant’s criminal record and those of the State’s witnesses.
Motion for Copy of Defendant’s Statements — The defense is asking the court to require the prosecution to hand over any statements Robert John Arnold III made — orally or in writing — while in police custody, at least ten days before trial. If the prosecution fails to comply, the defense asks that those statements be blocked from use at trial.
Motion for Pre-Trial Disclosure of Evidence of Independent and Separate Offenses, Wrongs, or Acts — The defense is asking the court to order the prosecution to immediately disclose any evidence of other crimes or bad acts it plans to introduce at trial to suggest motive, intent, or prior conflict between Robert John Arnold III and the alleged victim.
Preliminary Motion to Suppress and Motion for Jackson-Denno Hearing — The defense is asking the court to throw out any statements Robert John Arnold III made after being detained, any out-of-court identifications of him, and any evidence gathered through searches the defense considers unlawful. A Jackson-Denno hearing is a separate proceeding where a judge — outside the presence of a jury — decides whether a defendant’s statements were made voluntarily before allowing them to be used at trial.
Preliminary General Demurrer — The defense is asking the court to dismiss the charges entirely, arguing that the accusation or indictment does not properly allege all the elements required to establish a crime under Georgia law. The defense notes this motion will be updated as more information becomes available through discovery.
Preliminary Special Demurrer — The defense is separately asking the court to dismiss the charges on the grounds that the accusation or indictment is imprecise and does not give Robert John Arnold III enough information to adequately prepare a defense. This motion will also be supplemented as discovery proceeds.
