[NARRATIVE #1 on June 15, 2026]

On Monday, June 15th, 2026, at 1919 hours, I was dispatched to [700 BLOCK] Spring Place Road, White, GA 30184, in reference to a welfare check on an alleged domestic violence victim. Base on the information provided to 911, I believed a domestic disturbance may have been active at the home.

I called the complainant, [WITNESS #1], the sister-in-law of the victim, [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated she spoke with [VICTIM #1] approximately one hour prior to [WITNESS #1] calling 911. [WITNESS #1] said [VICTIM #1] disclosed multiple assaults committed by [VICTIM #1]’s husband, Adam Richardson, which occurred over the past few weeks. [VICTIM #1] stated to [WITNESS #1] she had been tazed by Adam, choked by him, threatened with a shotgun, and shoved under water while in the bathtub.

I asked [WITNESS #1] specifically what was happening today and she stated [VICTIM #1] got another family to pick up her son because things were so bad with Adam. [VICTIM #1] told [WITNESS #1] Adam was writing things on the walls of the home in order to start a fight and had punched a hole in the wall. While [WITNESS #1] was on the phone with [VICTIM #1], Adam began yelling at her to get off the phone. [VICTIM #1] disconnected and Adam then sent a text to [WITNESS #1] ordering her to never call [VICTIM #1] again.

[VICTIM #1] had disclosed to [WITNESS #1], Adam quit his job today and was drinking shots of alcohol one-after-another. [WITNESS #1] told me Adam gets aggressive when he drinks and she was scared Adam would kill [VICTIM #1] and/ or law enforcement if the Sheriff’s Office showed up. [WITNESS #1] also stated Adam had made comments in the past about killing law enforcement before killing himself if they responded to him. I responded to the scene to assist in the arrest of Adam Richardson. The investigation was turned over to Cpl. Lingerfelt.

[NARRATIVE #2 on June 15, 2026]

On Monday, June 15, 2026, at approximately 1919 hours, I was dispatched to [700 BLOCK] Spring Place Rd., White, Georgia, in reference to a welfare check on homeowner [VICTIM #1].

Upon arrival, I spoke with a tenant of the residence, identified as [WITNESS #2]. [WITNESS #2] stated he is not related to the homeowners in any way and only rents the basement portion of the residence.

I questioned [WITNESS #2] regarding anything he had heard or observed concerning possible domestic violence between his landlords, Adam and [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #2] stated he generally tries to stay out of their personal affairs and keeps to himself; however, he has heard and observed several incidents during the approximately one year he has lived at the residence.

[WITNESS #2] explained that the kitchen is located directly above his bedroom. He stated that he plays video games on many nights while wearing a headset, which prevents him from hearing much of what is happening upstairs. However, on multiple occasions, he has felt the house shake from something being slammed above him. When this occurs, he removes his headset and can hear arguing and items being slammed around upstairs.

[WITNESS #2] stated that during the early morning hours of June 15, 2026, at approximately 0400 hours, he was speaking with a friend while wearing his headset. He said Adam and [VICTIM #1] had been arguing throughout the evening, but the argument appeared to intensify around 0400 hours when he again felt the house shake. [WITNESS #2] removed his headset and walked toward the staircase connecting the basement and main level of the residence. From the staircase, he could hear an argument taking place upstairs. He stated he was unable to make out most of the conversation; however, he distinctly heard [VICTIM #1] say the word “taser.” After hearing that word, he could not understand the remainder of the conversation, other than muffled yelling and screaming. [WITNESS #2] stated he then put his headset back on, continued his conversation with his friend, and did not hear anything else of significance that morning.

[WITNESS #2] stated he has been upstairs on several occasions to spend time with Adam. During one of those visits, he observed a hole in the bedroom door belonging to Adam and [VICTIM #1]. He believed the damage had been caused by someone either kicking or punching the door. [WITNESS #2] stated that he first observed the damage approximately 8 to 9 months ago.

During the conversation, [WITNESS #2] also commented that he was “not surprised we [law enforcement] were there” investigating domestic violence.

[NARRATIVE #3 on June 15, 2026]

On Monday, June 15, 2026, at approximately 1939 hours, I was dispatched to [700 BLOCK] Spring Place Road, White, GA 30184, in reference to a welfare check on the victim, Ms. [VICTIM #1].

While en route, Bartow Dispatch advised that the caller, whose information and statement you will find in Sgt. Adam Belcher’s supplemental, called in to advise that [VICTIM #1] had been in a physical altercation with her husband/arrestee, Mr. Adam Richardson, who was now also doing property damage. The caller also stated that Adam was advising that he would kill everyone in the house and the police if they were called to the residence.

After a brief period of intelligence gathering, I, along with several deputies, proceeded to the residence, where we located Adam sleeping in the driver’s seat of his red Toyota Tacoma(Georgia License Plate [REDACTED]). Based on the information given about Adam’s wishes to harm law enforcement and that he was possibly heavily armed, we set up as if we were conducting a high-risk stop to call Adam out and away from the vehicle. While doing so, [VICTIM #1] exited the front door of the residence and immediately told us that nothing was happening and that our response was not necessary. [VICTIM #1] also stated that she knew who called us, but she was fine. [VICTIM #1] stated that Adam was just intoxicated, but he was fine, and nothing had happened today.

While speaking with [VICTIM #1], she repeatedly stated nothing had happened and that she would get Adam out of the vehicle, but she needed us to leave first. I then advised [VICTIM #1] that we had already been made aware that Adam had punched a hole in the wall and had been physical with her. When I said these things, [VICTIM #1] dropped her head and confirmed that Adam did put a hole in the wall. I asked [VICTIM #1] to elaborate on the physical altercations so that I could make a fully educated decision, but she refused to do so because “the system is broken” and “that would cost us more money.”

I went back and forth with [VICTIM #1] for several moments, but she continually refused to tell me anything more that had happened. [VICTIM #1] even asked if everyone could leave and just have one deputy return, but she was advised that was not an option due to safety concerns. [VICTIM #1] then stated that it would not end well for anyone if Adam woke up and saw all of the deputies in the front yard. [VICTIM #1] stated Adam would just feel attacked, and we would probably have to shoot him because all of his firearms were in the vehicle with him. [VICTIM #1] then began begging us not to shoot Adam.

At that point, Adam had woken up and was moving around in the vehicle. Deputy Gavin Noble began giving Adam commands, where he began opening the center console and diving toward the door pocket. Deputy Noble continued giving commands, and Adam was subsequently taken into custody without incident. It was later determined that there were no firearms in the vehicle.

Once [VICTIM #1] knew that Adam was in custody, she began crying. I then advised her that I could not do my job properly or help her in this situation if she continued to withhold information from me about what had actually happened. [VICTIM #1] then began telling me about stuff that has happened over the last 2 weeks, starting with an incident on approximately June 1, 2026. [VICTIM #1] stated she and Adam have been continuously arguing since he began drinking again after being sober for 45 days. [VICTIM #1] stated Adam always gets angry over their adult kids, Mr. [VICTIM #2] and Mr. [REDACTED]’s, room not being clean. [VICTIM #1] stated they verbally argued before she went into the garage and sat down on a cooler.

[VICTIM #1] stated Adam then walked outside, came up behind her, wrapped his arm around her neck, and began strangling her to the point that she could not breathe and could feel tightness and pressure in her eyes and head. [VICTIM #1] stated Adam let go after several moments, but her voice is still raspy from that incident. I could hear the rasps in [VICTIM #1]’s voice as she was speaking to me. I also observed some visible blood vessels under her left eye, which she described as her just being old, but would be consistent with someone being strangled.

[VICTIM #1] stated a few days later, estimated to be approximately June 5, 2026, she and Adam were arguing again, and he attempted to grab her, but she prevented him from doing so. [VICTIM #1] stated Adam then bent down, bit her on the scalp, and ripped out a chunk of her hair. [VICTIM #1] then showed me a large bald spot on the left side of her head, which is obviously disfigured from its original state. That was photographed on my body-worn camera.

[VICTIM #1] stated 2 days ago, on June 13, 2026, Adam came into the bathroom while she was taking a bath after arguing with him, placed his foot on her chest, and then pushed her head under water for several moments, leaving her unable to breathe for the duration of this event and leading her to believe that she would die. [VICTIM #1] stated Adam then walked out as if he never did anything. [VICTIM #1] stated she was lying on the bed later that same evening when Adam came into the bedroom, angry about the kids’ rooms being dirty. [VICTIM #1] stated Adam walked over to her and punched her on the right buttock, leaving a bruise, which was photographed by [VICTIM #1] and uploaded to a CoreForce Link that I sent to her phone. [VICTIM #1] stated she did not get up right away, so Adam got a stun-gun style taser and tased her on the same buttock, which prompted her to get up and go upstairs to speak with [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #1] stated [VICTIM #2] then went downstairs and put Adam in a choke hold in an attempt to hold him there while he called the police, but was unsuccessful.

[VICTIM #1] stated last night, June 14, 2026, she and Adam were arguing, and he grabbed a shotgun, racked it, put it to her face, and asked her if he was killing her or [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #1] stated she told him to kill her, which prompted Adam to hold the gun to her face until she began crying, and he then put the gun away. [VICTIM #1] stated she then hid the gun in the closet after Adam left the room, which is where the gun was located when she gave it to me. The shotgun, which was loaded and ready to fire at the time of collection, was collected and placed into evidence at the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office.

[VICTIM #1] then added that today has actually been okay and that nothing had happened between her and Adam today. [VICTIM #1] stated she had her [VICTIM #2] and [REDACTED] leave the residence due to being in fear for their safety. [VICTIM #1] stated that Adam had repeatedly told them that if they called the police, he would kill everyone in the residence. [VICTIM #1] also stated that Adam brings up that he was affiliated with the Bloods when he lived in California, and he handles any problem he has without involving the police. [VICTIM #1] stated the only thing that happened today was that Adam had been putting Blood tagging, which are symbols signifying the territory of a gang, all over the doors inside with permanent marker. [VICTIM #1] stated she did not speak with Adam while he was doing this, and he then went outside to fall asleep in the vehicle due to drinking straight tequila all day. [VICTIM #1] stated he had not been asleep long when we arrived.

I then asked [VICTIM #1] to allow me into the residence to see the writing and the hole he had put in the wall, and she did. I immediately observed writing in the interior garage door that stated, “I don’t give a fu*k.” Immediately to the left of that door was a large hole in the wall that [VICTIM #1] stated Adam had put there the previous night. I then observed the tagging mentioned above on the back of the interior garage door and an interior bedroom door.

While walking through the residence, I also observed several holes that had been patched. When I asked about those, [VICTIM #1] stated they were all from Adam, but nobody ever called the police because of how often their lives were threatened if they ever did call. [VICTIM #1] also showed me a section of wallpaper behind the bed in the primary suite, and stated that there is a big patch behind the wallpaper because Adam had put so many holes in the wall that it was easier to cover it up than paint over it. All of the visible damage was photographed on my body-worn camera.

I then asked [VICTIM #1] why she stays and suffers through this stuff with Adam, and she stated she is scared of what would happen if she tried to leave. [VICTIM #1] stated between the financial burden, the threats to her life, and the emotional abuse he puts her through, she stays here to prevent it from getting worse.

While speaking with [VICTIM #1], I also observed several cuts on her left arm. When asked what those were from, she stated she inflicted them upon herself because that was easier than talking to anyone about it. I asked [VICTIM #1] if she needed medical attention, and she refused. I then asked if she was having any thoughts of harming herself or anyone else, and she stated she was not. [VICTIM #1] was then provided with a case number for this incident and resources if she ever got to the point of wanting to harm herself.

While on scene, the basement tenant of this residence arrived and spoke with Deputy Jeffery Stevens about some things he had heard from upstairs. You will find that male’s information and statement in Deputy Stevens’ supplement to this case.

Deputy Stevens then transported Adam to the Bartow County Jail, where I read him his Miranda Warning and offered him a Miranda Rights Waiver to sign if he wished to speak with me. Adam stated he would not waive his rights and only wished to know why he was in jail. I then wrote “Refused” in the space where Adam would’ve signed, filled out the date and time, and had Deputy Stevens sign as a witness that Adam was offered an opportunity to provide his statement. That Miranda Rights Waiver was placed in the attachments basket to be uploaded to this report. Adam was left in the custody of jail staff with no further incident.

After leaving the jail, I received a call from [VICTIM #2], who stated he wished to give a statement in this case. [VICTIM #2] stated the abuse from Adam has been going on for years, which makes them scared of him and what he would do to them if they ever called. [VICTIM #2] stated he had heard several of the arguments between [VICTIM #1] and Adam, but had never witnessed one until the night of the taser incident. [VICTIM #2] stated he went downstairs after he heard his mother scream, where he saw Adam with the taser. [VICTIM #2] stated Adam then charged at him with the taser, so he put him in a choke hold and threw him to the ground to protect himself and [VICTIM #1] from any further injury. [VICTIM #2] stated Adam was tasing him on the leg while he held him to the floor, but did not leave any markings from the taser.

[VICTIM #2] stated he then let Adam up, where Adam stated, “If you ever put your hands on me in my house again, I’ll put a bullet in your head.” [VICTIM #2] stated that is when Adam stated he would burn the house down and kill everyone inside if the police were called. I then asked [VICTIM #2] if anyone else was around to see this altercation or hear the threats made, and he stated [VICTIM #1] saw the entire thing. [VICTIM #2] then put [VICTIM #1] on the phone, and I asked her if she could corroborate these allegations. She stated that it all happened, but she did not want to tell me that earlier because she was scared that [VICTIM #2] would get in trouble. [VICTIM #2] stated he was unavailable to meet me this evening, but he would be able to meet me on the evening of June 16, 2026, to complete a voluntary statement. [VICTIM #2] also stated he had bruising on his knee from this incident, which was uploaded to the same CoreForce link that was provided to [VICTIM #1].

Based on the statements from all parties involved and the physical evidence presented to me while on scene, warrants were taken on Adam for Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault by Strangulation x2, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Battery, Simple Battery, Terroristic Threats and Acts(F), and Criminal Trespass – Damage to Property, all charges being under the Family Violence Act.

The voluntary statement will be uploaded to this case once it is received from [VICTIM #2].

[NARRATIVE #4 on June 15, 2026]

On Monday, June 15, 2026, I responded to [700 BLOCK] Spring Place Road, White, GA 30184, in reference to a welfare check involving an alleged domestic violence victim.

The third-party caller, [WITNESS #1], advised that [VICTIM #1] had called her and stated that Adam Richardson had held her underwater in a bathtub, tased her, held a shotgun to her head, and caused property damage. [WITNESS #1] further stated that Adam told [VICTIM #1] that if she called 911, he would kill her and her son.

Upon arrival, Adam was located asleep inside his running truck, which was backed into the driveway. As deputies pulled into the driveway, [VICTIM #1] immediately exited the residence and approached us. I began speaking with [VICTIM #1], who stated that she needed us to leave. [VICTIM #1] advised that she was afraid that if Adam woke up and saw law enforcement on scene, he would feel threatened and force law enforcement to kill him. [VICTIM #1] further stated that Adam kept an AK-47 and multiple other firearms inside his truck.

Corporal Z. Lingerfelt continued speaking with [VICTIM #1] while I and other deputies established a high-risk stop and drew our duty weapons due to the allegations made by both [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1].

Shortly thereafter, Adam woke up and began reaching into the center console and passenger-side floorboard area of the vehicle. Deputy G. Noble began giving Adam verbal commands to exit the vehicle. Adam complied with the commands and was taken into custody without further incident.

[NARRATIVE #5 on June 16, 2026]

On Monday, June 16, 2026, at approximately 1912 hours, I was dispatched to [700 BLOCK] Spring Place Rd., White, GA 30184, in reference to a welfare check.

Other deputies and I responded to the listed address after a third-party caller reported allegations of property damage and a physical altercation. The caller also advised that the suspect had stated he would shoot law enforcement if deputies attempted to make contact with him.

Upon arrival, the suspect was located reclined in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Based on the information provided by the caller, it was believed the suspect possibly had multiple firearms inside the vehicle with him.

While deputies maintained a safe position, the suspect began moving around inside the vehicle. Due to the reported threats and the possibility that the suspect was armed, I gave loud verbal commands for him to stop moving, show his hands, turn the vehicle off, and step out of the vehicle. The suspect complied with my commands, exited the vehicle, and was subsequently placed into custody without further incident.

DEFENSE FILES MOTION FOR BOND HEARING IN BARTOW COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

What this means: On June 23, 2026, Adam Alvert Richardson’s attorney, H. Greyson Oswalt-Smith of Cansino Blanchette Law Firm, LLC, filed a formal request asking the Bartow County Superior Court to hold a bond hearing. The motion argued that Richardson does not pose a significant flight risk, does not threaten the community or any property, would not commit a felony if released, and would not intimidate witnesses or obstruct justice. The filing asked the court to set a hearing as soon as possible and to set a bond amount it considers reasonable.

6/23/26

RULE NISI ISSUED — BOND HEARING SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 30, 2026

What this means: Also on June 23, 2026, the Bartow County Superior Court accepted the defense’s motion and issued a Rule Nisi — a court order directing the State of Georgia to appear and explain why Richardson’s request for bond should not be granted. The hearing was scheduled for June 30, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. before Judge Rosemary Greene at the Superior Court located at 135 West Cherokee Ave., Cartersville, GA 30120.

BOND HEARING HELD — JUDGE DENIES BOND FOR ADAM ALVERT RICHARDSON

What this means: On June 30, 2026, Judge Rosemary M. Greene of the Cherokee Judicial Circuit Superior Court held the bond hearing in Case No. SUW2026001502 and ordered that bond be denied. The judge found that two of the four standard grounds for denial applied: Richardson poses a significant threat or danger to any person, to the community, or to property in the community, and Richardson poses a significant risk of intimidating witnesses or otherwise obstructing the administration of justice. The other two grounds — flight risk and risk of committing a felony pending trial — were not checked as applicable. As a result, Adam Alvert Richardson remains held in the Bartow County Jail without bond.
