On Friday, May 15, 2026, at approximately 1735 I responded as a secondary officer to a traffic stop conducted by Officer Wornell located at Thoroughbred Ln & S Erwin St.
Upon my arrival, I took over the scene, approaching the driver’s door of the black in color Jeep Cherokee bearing a GA tag. Upon approaching the vehicle, Officer Wornell handed me the driver’s information for Ms. Alaina Harp, informing me she was exhibiting indicators of intoxication.
Upon speaking with Ms. Harp, I was able to conclude that Ms. Harp was showing indicators of being under the influence of alcohol due to her slowed/slurred speech and lack of smooth coordination. Due to my training and past experiences, I requested Ms. Harp to exit the vehicle due to my suspicion of Ms. Harp being intoxicated.
Ms. Harp complied and exited the vehicle. Upon Ms. Harp exiting the vehicle, she had unsteady footing on flat, even ground, using her vehicle to hold herself up properly. I requested Ms. Harp walk to Officer Wornell’s marked patrol vehicle and await further instruction. It was this time while speaking with Ms. Harp I was able to detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Ms. Harp’s breath.
Upon Ms. Harp reaching Officer Wornell’s patrol vehicle, she kept using the front of the vehicle to keep a solid footing. I requested Ms. Harp to perform the SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test). Ms. Harp agreed to the test.
Due to Ms. Harp’s inability to keep a steady footing and inability to stay still without swaying, it was determined for Ms. harps safety and fear of injury. The walk and turn, as well as the one-leg stand, were not performed.
Ms. Harp was read her Miranda rights, stating she understood them and wished to speak with law enforcement without an attorney present.
I requested Ms. Harp to take a PBT test (Portable Breathalyzer Test). Ms. Harp agreed. Upon conducting the test, I was able to confirm my suspicion of Ms. Harp being intoxicated, showing results of .27, with the legal limit being .08. This test is not admissible in court and is strictly for confirming my suspicions of alcohol impairment.
Ms. Harp was read the green Georgia implied consent Notice for persons over the age of 21. Ms. Harp agreed to the Georgia implied consent notice.
Ms. Harp was placed into handcuffs behind her back, double locked, and checked for proper fit. Ms. Harp was searched incident to arrest for any contraband, with none being found, before being placed into the back of Officer Wornell’s marked Cartersville police patrol vehicle. Ms. Harp was secured via a safety belt before being transported.
Officer Wornell transported Ms. Harp for a blood draw while I obtained a blood search warrant for Ms. Harp’s blood. Ms. Harp was later transported by Officer Wornell to Bartow County jail for housing and turned over to jail staff.
A GBI submission form was completed, as well as the blood test kit was entered into evidence.
An electronic warrant for Ms. Harp was requested and granted by the Honorable Judge Joe Tatum, from the Magistrate Court of Bartow County, State of Georgia. The active and valid warrants are as follows:

- OCGA -40-6-391(A)(1) DUI driving under the influence of alcohol. Warrant # CE-0180982
