On June 17, 2026, at approximately 1315 hours, I responded to [REDACTED] in reference to a welfare check.

Upon my arrival, I made contact with Ashley Cunningham. I advised Ashley that I was conducting a welfare check regarding a video she had sent. Ashley stated that she created the video in an attempt to get her boyfriend, [WITNESS #1], to return home after the two had argued the previous night and [WITNESS #1] had left the residence.

Ashley further stated that she had recently suffered a miscarriage and was experiencing significant emotional distress. Ashley stated that she was going through a difficult time mentally and needed help.

After speaking with Ashley, I contacted the original complainant, [WITNESS #2], to obtain further details. While speaking with [WITNESS #2], I sent her a link to upload the video for review. [WITNESS #2] successfully uploaded the video through CoreForce.

I reviewed the video, which had been recorded and sent from Ashley’s phone. In the video, I could hear Ashley making statements about killing her infant child, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], while holding a knife in close proximity to his face and making stabbing motions toward him. [WITNESS #2] advised that Ashley originally sent the video to [WITNESS #1], who subsequently forwarded it to [WITNESS #2]. Upon reviewing the video, it depicted the events exactly as described by [WITNESS #2].

After viewing the video, the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) was contacted. Following notification to DFCS, the children were escorted inside the residence, and Ashley was detained and placed in my patrol vehicle. While Ashley was seated in my patrol vehicle, I asked her if she had consumed any alcohol or used any substances prior to or during the recording of the video. Ashley stated that she had been drinking alcohol at the time the video was recorded.

Upon the arrival of DFCS caseworker [REDACTED], she conducted interviews with the children who were of appropriate age and ability to be interviewed. Due to his age, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was assessed by DFCS but was not interviewed.

While coordinating with DFCS, [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] arrived on scene and requested to take custody of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. While speaking with [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2], [REDACTED], the children’s aunt, arrived on scene after being contacted to retrieve the remaining children. Upon the arrival of [WITNESS #1], [WITNESS #2], and [REDACTED], [REDACTED] interviewed each of them and completed the necessary paperwork regarding placement of the children.

The following children were released to [REDACTED]:

– [REDACTED BY AGENCY]

The following child was released to [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2]:

– [REDACTED BY AGENCY]

Ashley Cunningham was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Cruelty to Children in the First Degree, and Terroristic Threats and Acts.

Warrants were secured for all listed charges.

Ashley stated that she no longer possessed the video and had deleted it from her phone. Her phone was seized as evidence, and a search warrant will be obtained.

At the time of this report, DFCS had not yet issued a case number. Once a case number is assigned, it will be documented in a supplemental report.

This case will remain active pending further investigation.

All events occurred within Bartow County, Georgia.
