On September 4, 2026, at approximately 1302 hours, I, Officer Vannoy with the Cartersville Police Department, responded to [10 BLOCK] Ohio St. in reference to a 911 call made by Ashley MyHand regarding a firearm.

Upon arrival, I spoke with Ashley MyHand on the front porch regarding the incident. Ashley reported that she was told by [REDACTED], who works at the pharmacy, that [REDACTED] was in possession of a firearm. When I inquired further, Ashley stated that [REDACTED] intended to harm himself. Out of concern for [REDACTED]’s well-being, I asked for his whereabouts. Ashley replied that she did not know, but then stated that he was next door with a female, possibly engaged in sexual activity.

Ashley MyHand invited me inside the residence to continue our conversation. She shared that her mother had died as a result of a firearm and expressed concern over the current situation. Ashley also stated that [REDACTED] is controlling and takes all her money. When I asked if she had ever seen the firearm in question, she stated that she had not.

I then asked Ashley MyHand what specific crime she wished to report, but she was unable to provide one. I explained to her that she has been repeatedly advised not to misuse 911. I further advised Ashley that she had previously called law enforcement when no crime had occurred, and had requested Metro EMS for a non-emergency medical issue. Due to the continued misuse of 911, I made the decision to place Ashley MyHand under arrest.

During this time, Ashley MyHand requested EMS for medical assistance. I notified Bartow Dispatch to have EMS respond to my location. Upon arrival, EMS personnel determined that Ashley did not have a medical complaint for herself, but instead stated that [REDACTED] had cancer. EMS personnel explained to Ashley that they could not assist [REDACTED] unless he personally requested help. Metro EMS then informed me that there were no medical concerns for Ashley at this time, as no complaint was given.

Ashley MyHand was placed in handcuffs behind her back, which were checked for proper fit and double-locked. She was searched incident to arrest, with no contraband located, and placed in the rear seat of my department-issued marked patrol vehicle, which was searched before and after transport with negative results for contraband. Ashley was then transported to the Bartow County Jail and turned over to jail staff without incident.

Due to the totality of the circumstances, warrants were obtained for unlawful conduct in relation to 911 calls and making a false report. (Warrant No.CE-0183280) A copy of these warrants is attached to this electronic case file.
