On Saturday, July 11th 2026 at approximately 0652 hours, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Overlook Pkwy Apt. [REDACTED] (Prose Apts). In reference to a domestic disturbance.

While en route to this call the suspect and victim of this call were located at 25 Overlook Pkwy (Tru by Hilton). When I arrived on scene a black male who was identified as Augustus Hunter was outside of the hotel. Augustus Hunter stated he did nothing wrong and that his girlfriend Victim 1 was inside if I wanted to speak with her.

I then walked inside the hotel were I met Victim 1 in the front lobby. When I approached Victim 1 to speak about what had occurred, she asked to talk somewhere away from the main guest that was present at this time. We then walked towards a hallway were she then disclosed to what happened at this time. Victim 1 stated Augustus Hunter was inside her residence at [100 BLOCK] Overlook Pkwy and would not leave when she asked him to. During this course Victim 1 attempted to leave where Augustus then grabbed her by the arm to prevent her from walking away, were she then used a closed fist to strike Augustus so he would let her go. Victim 1 stated this morning she was able to leave the residence where she then went to the Tru hotel and Augustus Hunter then proceeded to follow her. Victim 1 then told Augustus Hunter she was going to call 911 where he then took her Iphone 14 Pro Max away from her to prevent her from calling. I then asked Victim 1 if she had the property at this time were she stated no, that Augustus Hunter still had the phone in his possession. I then had Victim 1 to describe the phone were she stated it was an Iphone 14 Pro Max black in color in a purple phone case.

I then went back outside to speak with Augustus Hunter further about the alleged property that was stolen. When I asked Augustus Hunter about the phone he then reached inside his pockets and presented the phone that was described to me. I then retrieved the phone, and asked him to explain to me how he became in possession of the phone. Augustus Hunter stated that him and Victim 1 had gotten into a verbal altercation were he did grab her by the wrist when she attempted to leave, and that she did punch him in the face. Augustus Hunter also admitted to taking the phone away from her when she threatened to call 911 when he followed her to the Tru hotel. Due to the admission of taking the Iphone from its original property owner, the act of grabbing Victim 1 by the wrist, and preventing her from calling 911 I then placed Augustus Hunter under arrest.

Mr. Hunter was then placed in handcuffs with both hands handcuffed behind his back. The handcuffs were then checked for proper fit and double locked to ensure no further tightening. Mr. Hunter was then searched incident to arrest revealing no contraband and placed in the rear seat of my department issued marked patrol vehicle which is searched prior to and after transport yielding negative for contraband. Mr. Hunter was then transported to the Bartow County Jail, where he was turned over to jail staff without incident.

Due to the totality of the circumstances, warrants were obtained for Simple Batter (FVA), Theft By Taking (M), and Interference Of 911 Phone Call. (Warrant No. CE-0182284, CE-0182285, CE-0182285) A copy of these warrants is attached to this electronic case file. This incident was captured on Officer Lowell body camera due to technical issues with mine.
