On Monday, April 27, 2026, at approximately 1058 hours, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Overlook Pkwy, Apt [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic in progress. Upon arrival, I spoke with maintenance employee who reported hearing banging, screaming, and crying coming from apartment [REDACTED].

As I approached apartment [REDACTED], I could faintly hear a female crying inside. I advised Ofc. Clanton to obtain the master key from an employee upon his arrival. After several unsuccessful attempts to make contact with the occupants, Ofc. Clanton arrived with the master key. Entry was made to the residence, where a male, Mr. Barkley Yarofalfil, was found “sleeping” on an air mattress in the living room. Mr. Yarofalfil was given commands to show his hands and walk toward officers. He was searched for weapons, which yielded negative results. Ofc. Clanton remained with Mr. Yarofalfil while I attempted to locate the female.

Upon entry, I observed blood spatter on the walls and a large pool of blood on the floor. Mr. Yarofalfil was handcuffed at this time due to the circumstances. The female, victim, was located “sleeping” in the back left bedroom. Victim had a swollen upper lip, swollen nose, a broken nail on her right ring finger, and bloodstains on her body and clothing. Ofc. Clanton interviewed Victim, who initially stated that nothing had happened to her. After a brief period, she stated that Mr. Yarofalfil (her live in boyfriend) slapped her, but then changed her story, claiming she gets nosebleeds when angry.

I observed what appeared to be nail scratches on Mr. Yarofalfil’s neck and face. He claimed these injuries were from Victim the previous day while they were at the pool. When asked why Victim was bleeding, Mr. Yarofalfil stated he did not know and that he woke up to find her in that condition. For officer safety, Mr. Yarofalfil was asked to remain seated in the apartment while Ofc. Clanton interviewed Victim. Once the interview concluded, Mr. Yarofalfil was escorted outside. Before leaving the apartment, Mr. Yarofalfil observed Ofc. Chapman shining a flashlight on the pool of blood and then kicked a shirt onto it. Mr. Yarofalfil was advised that this action constituted tampering with evidence and would result in an additional charge.

Mr. Yarofalfil was then escorted to the rear of my marked department-issued patrol vehicle, where his handcuffs were checked for fit and double-locked. He was transported to 104 Zena Dr (BCSO) and turned over to the deputy on scene without incident. My patrol vehicle was searched both before and after transport, yielding no weapons or contraband. Warrants were obtained for Mr. Yarofalfil for Battery (FVA) (Misdemeanor) and Tampering with Evidence (Misdemeanor).
