On Monday, August 3, 2026, at approximately 1405 hours, I was dispatched to 798 West Ave (Cartersville Tires & Wheels) for damage to property report. Upon my arrival, I noticed the City of Cartersville gas main was broken. A witness approached me to inform me what he seen.

Witness stated he saw a black Ford F150 strike a gas main. Witness informed me that a older white male exited the vehicle and picked up a yellow metal cage, threw it out of the way. Witness advised me that the male looked at the damage to his vehicle and fled the scene. Witness stated he was able to get the tag number (to the vehicle. After a GCIC inquiry, I discovered the registered owner of the vehicle was Mr. Bradley Nycum.

The director of City of Cartersville Gas was contacted and stated he wishes to press charges.

The owner of Cartersville Tire and Wheel was able to provide video footage of the incident. I noticed a black Ford F150 strike the gas main, a white male (matching Mr. Nycum) exit the vehicle, check the damages, and flee the scene. A Polaris link was sent to upload the footage and it was uploaded. Mr. Nycum’s residence ([20 BLOCK] Summit Ridge Cir) is located in the county. Bartow County Sheriff deputies went to the residence and located the vehicle.

I arrived Mr. Nycum’s residence and noticed the vehicle in the driveway. I took pictures of the damages to the passenger side from hitting the gas main. Mr. Nycum stated he knew he hit the gas main but did not think he did any damage. I placed Mr. Nycum into handcuffs behind the back, checked for fit, and double locked for safety. A search of Mr. Nycum was conducted yielding negative of weapons or contraband. I placed Mr. Nycum into the back of my marked patrol vehicle, which is searched before and after transport yielding negative of contraband. I transported Mr. Nycum to 104 Zena Dr (Bartow County Jail) for housing. I obtained warrants for (CE-0182683) criminal trespass damage to property and (CE-0182684) hit and run.
