Officer’s Narrative:

On May 19, 2026 at approximately 0843, I was dispatched to 15 Southview Drive, Cartersville, Georgia 30121 in reference to a Welfare Check.

Upon my arrival, a female, later identified as [REDACTED], was seen leaving the residence. I approached her, and informed her I was there for a welfare check on Callan Ross. Ms. [REDACTED] stated Mr. Ross was in the house. As I approached the stairs leading to the front door, Mr. Ross opened the front door. I advised Mr. Ross I was there for a welfare check.

Through a GCIC/NCIC query of Callan Ross, he came back with a valid driver’s license and an active warrant out of Cobb County PD for Felony Theft by Conversion. Mr. Ross was detained by handcuffing his hands behind his back, checking the handcuffs for proper fit, and double-locking the handcuffs. I asked Mr. Ross if I could remove the items from his pocket, to which he agreed. Located in Mr. Ross’ left pocket of his shorts was a needle. Mr. Ross asked if he could smoke a cigarette while we waited on warrant confirmation. Mr. Ross stated his cigarettes were located in his bathroom, and when advised an Officer would have to accompany him to retrieve his cigarettes, he agreed.

I followed Mr. Ross up the stairs in his home to his bedroom located at the end of the hallway on the left side. Mr. Ross led me to the bathroom, where I observed a white substance in a line on a plate. I observed a device commonly used for smoking Methamphetamine.

I took Mr. Ross back outside and read him his Miranda Rights at which time Mr. Ross agreed to speak with me. Mr. Ross stated Methamphetamine was located on the plate. I went back inside and observed another plate with Methamphetamine residue, a credit card in Mr. Ross’ name with residue, and a butane lighter.

At this time, Mr. Ross was placed under arrest.

Mr. Ross was placed in the back of my marked patrol unit which was checked before and after each shift, before and after each transport with no contraband located.

I called CID Sergeant Herron who responded to the scene.

Mr. Ross stated his Cousin, Andrew Channell, was sleeping in the bedroom downstairs.

Sergeant Herron and Sergeant Downer woke up Mr. Channell, and had him step outside.

Sergeant Herron secured a Search Warrant for the house at 15 Southview Drive, Cartersville, Georgia 30121.

Sergeant Wilkey and Investigator Walker responded to the scene.

While waiting on Sergeant Herron to return with the Search Warrant, Mr. Channell became increasingly nervous. Mr. Channell asked to use the restroom to which Lt. Ibarra told him he needed to sit down. Lt. Ibarra went to detain Mr. Channell at which time he ran down the stairs. Sergeant Downer, Sergeant Wilkey, Investigator Walker, and Lieutenant Ibarra assisted Mr. Channell to the ground. I grabbed Mr. Channell’s right arm and assisted it to his back. I then went on Mr. Channell’s left side while Lt. Ibarra gave distractionary strikes to which I was able to get Mr. Channell’s left hand behind his back in order to handcuff him. While attempting to take Mr. Channell in to custody, Mr. Channell kicked Sergeant Downer in his left thumb causing his thumb to dislocate and swell.

Mr. Channell was arrested by handcuffing his hands behind his back, checking the handcuffs for proper fit, and double-locking the handcuffs. Mr. Channell was searched incident to arrest, and located in his right pocket of his shorts was a clear plastic container with a red top with a razor and another clear bag with a white powdery substance. The white powdery substance field tested positive for Cocaine. Officer McArthur read Mr. Channell his Miranda Rights to which Mr. Channell agreed to talk. Mr. Channell stated the white powdery substance was Cocaine. Officer McArthur transported Mr. Channell to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office in the back of his marked patrol unit which was checked before and after each shift, before and after each transport with no contraband located. Mr. Channell was turned over to Bartow County Sheriff’s Deputies without incident.

Sergeant Herron obtained a Search Warrant (Search Warrant #: 26-SW-000124).

The Search Warrant was executed.

Items located in the downstairs bedroom: three (3) orange in color pills with 30 LCI markings in a clear and black Ziploc bag located in the dresser drawer, approximately 22 grams of suspected Methamphetamine located in the dresser drawer, a black in color iPhone located on the dresser, and a white in color iPhone located on the bed.

Upstairs, in addition to the Methamphetamine in plain view, a loaded syringe was located in a jacket pocket in Mr. Ross’ closet.

Sergeant Herron spoke with Mr. Ross after the search warrant was executed. Sergeant Herron reminded Mr. Ross of his Miranda Rights read earlier and Mr. Ross again agreed to talk. Mr. Ross stated he and Mr. Channell both sell drugs out of the residence at 15 Southview Drive, Cartersville, Georgia 30121.

A copy of the Search Warrant was left on the dining room table.

I transported Mr. Ross to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office and turned him over to Bartow County Sheriff’s Deputies without incident.

Bartow County Animal Control took possession of the Rottweiler puppy located inside the home.

Callan Ross received five charges: VGCSA- Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute (CE-0181093), Possession of Methamphetamine (CE-0181094), Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects (CE-0181095), VGCSA- Drugs Not In Original Container (CE-0181096), and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (CE-0181097).

Andrew Channell received six charges: Aggravated Battery on LEO (CE-0181098), Obstruction-Felony (CE-0181099), VGCSA- Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (CE-0181100), VGCSA- Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute (CE-0181101), VGCSA- Possession of Cocaine (CE-0181102), and Drugs Not In Original Container (CE-0181103).

Pictures were taken and uploaded to POLARIS.

A GBI submission form was completed for the narcotics located (5MYCFZ4).

Evidence was placed into Evidence at the Cartersville Police Department.
