On Monday, January 19, 2026, at approximately 1122 hours, I was patrolling the area of Cassville Rd and N Erwin St when a BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued for a black Nissan Altima in my area. The BOLO consisted of the vehicle above, which was tailgating and driving aggressively towards a Chick-fil-A delivery truck.
I was staged at the intersection of Cassville Rd and N Erwin St due to Bartow dispatch instructing the Chick-fil-a driver to enter the Cartersville Police Department parking lot. As Victim entered the Police Department parking lot, the black Nissan Altima described in the BOLO was behind her and continued straight towards the intersection I was staged at.
Once the black Nissan Altima entered the intersection and turned left onto N Erwin St, I initiated my emergency system lights and sirens. The black Nissan Altima immediately turned into 165 Cassville Rd (Citgo) before slowly rolling to the other side of the parking lot. It was at this point that the Nissan Altima stopped, and the driver of the vehicle (Mr. Christopher Davis) exited the vehicle and began yelling and cursing at the officers.
Cpt. Bentley, who was also on scene and I attempted to defuse the situation while awaiting the arrival of additional officers. When Ofc. Clanton, Ofc. Wornell, and Lt. Albright arrived on the scene, Mr. Davis had not yet calmed down. At this time, Mr. Davis began to walk away from the officers while simultaneously yelling profanities and behaving aggressively. Subsequently, Mr. Davis again tried to walk away. When I grabbed his arm to prevent him from leaving, he stated, “Stop touching me before I punch you in yo sh*t.” Following this, Mr. Davis slowly walked toward me in an aggressive manner while repeatedly referring to the other officers as “b*tche(s).”
As Mr. Davis moved toward me aggressively, I placed my left hand on his chest to stop his advance, given his prior statements and actions during the incident. Mr. Davis then began to scream and curse, escalating his level of agitation. Because of this behavior and concern for officer safety, Mr. Davis was restrained in handcuffs behind his back, which were checked for proper fit and double locked.
During the handcuffing process, Mr. Davis actively resisted by pulling his arms away and attempting to prevent officers from securing his hands. Once secured, officers frisked Mr. Davis over his clothing to check for weapons. While being frisked, Mr. Davis stated to the officers on scene, “Imma shoot one of y’all fu*k ni*gas.”
At this point, Mr. Davis was searched incident to arrest; the search did not reveal any weapons or contraband. After the search, I placed Mr. Davis into the rear of my marked department-issued patrol vehicle. Simultaneously, because his vehicle needed to be towed from the property, Ofc. Wornell conducted an inventory of Mr. Davis’s vehicle. During this inventory, Ofc. Wornell located an iPhone inside the vehicle, which was subsequently placed into property at 195 Cassville Rd (Cartersville Police Department). After the inventory was completed, I transported Mr. Davis to 104 Zena Dr (BCSO) without incident, where he was turned over to the Deputy on scene.
While Ofc. Wornell was inventorying the vehicle, Ofc. Clanton met with the caller, Victim, who explained her reasons for contacting Bartow County 911. Victim reported that after she made a right turn from N Erwin St onto Cassville Rd and inadvertently cut Mr. Davis off, Mr. Davis began tailgating her aggressively, making her fear that he would collide with her vehicle.
Upon reaching the Cassville Rd bridge, Mr. Davis passed her by crossing a double yellow lane and, once ahead, brake-checked her before stopping in the roadway and yelling at her. Frightened, Victim drove around him, but Mr. Davis continued to pursue her onto Grassdale Rd and then Briarwood Ln. When she realized Briarwood Ln was a dead end, Victim turned into a driveway to reverse course, at which point Mr. Davis attempted to block her in, though she narrowly managed to drive past him. At this stage, Victim called Bartow County 911 and was advised by dispatch to proceed to the Cartersville Police Department parking lot.
Mr. Davis was charged with five counts of Terroristic Threats (O.C.G.A. § 16-11-37) (F), Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers (O.C.G.A. § 16-10-24) (M), Disorderly Conduct (O.C.G.A. § 16-11-39) (M), and Aggressive Driving (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-397).
