On May 30, 2026, at approximately 0758 hours, I initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Porter St. and Redcomb Dr.
While traveling toward the intersection of Erwin St. and Cassville Rd., I observed a red Ford Escape bearing Georgia tag traveling at a very slow speed with traffic backed up behind it. I turned around and attempted to catch up to the vehicle. The vehicle made a left turn onto Porter St. from Erwin St., and I was then able to get behind it as it made another left turn onto Redcomb Dr. While following the vehicle, I observed multiple brake lights that were inoperable. I also observed the vehicle fail to maintain its lane and cross over a double yellow line. I then activated my emergency lights and siren and initiated a traffic stop.
I made contact with the driver, identified as Mr. Cole Hollander. I explained the reason for the stop and observed Hollander visibly shaking and appearing distressed. I asked Hollander if the address listed on his driver’s license was correct, and he stated that it was. His license indicated that he resided in Calhoun, a considerable distance from his current location. I then asked why he was in the area, and he stated that he was there to pick up his sister’s friend. I asked for the friend’s name, and he stated her name was [REDACTED]. When asked for her last name, Hollander stated that he did not know it. I then asked where she lived, and Hollander stated that it was “a left, then a right, then a left, then a right.” Due to my familiarity with the area, I asked Hollander what the next road was that he needed to turn onto. Hollander stated that he did not know. Based on his inconsistent responses, I became suspicious that he may have been involved in criminal activity.
I obtained Hollander’s driver’s license and ran his information through BCSO dispatch. Dispatch advised that Hollander had an active warrant for his arrest for a probation violation in Gordon County. Upon hearing the information broadcast over my radio, Hollander began shaking more noticeably and speaking rapidly. Due to concerns that he may attempt to flee, I asked him to step out of the vehicle.
I detained Hollander by placing his hands behind his back and applying handcuffs, checking them for proper fit and double-locking them. I explained the reason for his detention. While speaking with Hollander, I advised him that the warrant was for a probation violation, and he acknowledged that he was currently on probation. I then asked if there was anything inside the vehicle that I needed to be concerned about. Hollander stated, “I’m on probation and you’re already gonna search it. I’m going to jail.” He then stated, “There’s dope in that motherfu*ker, but not dope-dope, and there are usable things in there.” Hollander further stated that there was a pipe and a needle inside the vehicle.
Hollander’s warrant was subsequently confirmed, and a search incident to arrest was conducted on the vehicle. During the search, I located a glass pipe containing a burnt white residue. I also located a black bag hanging from the rearview mirror containing multiple needles that showed signs of prior use. Additionally, I located a syringe loaded with a liquid substance that later field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
After locating the contraband, I returned to my patrol vehicle and read Hollander his Miranda rights. Hollander stated that he understood his rights and was willing to continue speaking with me. I advised Hollander that we both knew what was inside the loaded syringe. Hollander stated that it was “a bad mix of dope,” but acknowledged that it would be referred to as methamphetamine.
Hollander was then placed under arrest and secured in my patrol vehicle, which had been inspected before and after my shift with no contraband found. Hollander was transported to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office without incident and charged with the following:
Possession of Methamphetamine (approximately 0.3 grams, liquid state)
Possession of Drug-Related Objects
Failure to Maintain Lane
Brake Light Requirements Violation
Copies of all warrants, warrant confirmations, and drug field test results are attached to this report.
All property seized on scene was submitted into CPD Evidence Locker #001.
