On Sunday, September 28th, 2025, at approximately 0716 hours, I was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Green Acre Lane, Cartersville, GA 30121, in reference to a fight in the complex.
Upon arrival, I spoke with Collins Edgar. Collins stated that he and several individuals were inside his apartment drinking the previous night into early this morning. Collins explained that he wanted [VICTIM #1] to leave because [VICTIM #1] was getting on his nerves. Collins advised that [VICTIM #1] was asking him to fight, saying he could beat him up, and making threats toward him. When asked to clarify what [VICTIM #1] was doing to threaten him, Collins could not provide a clear answer nor remember much detail due to the amount of alcohol he had consumed.
I asked Collins to explain what he did to [VICTIM #1]. Collins stated that he pushed [VICTIM #1] out of his apartment, then picked him up, slammed him on the ground, and punched him in the face, causing serious injury and disfigurement.
I then attempted to speak with [VICTIM #1] about what had happened, but due to a language barrier, he could not explain much more than being slammed to the ground.
I then spoke with [WITNESS #1], who reported that he heard the commotion from his apartment. [WITNESS #1] explained that when he stepped outside, he observed Collins standing over [VICTIM #1] after he had beaten him.
I advised Collins that he was under arrest for Aggravated battery on [VICTIM #1], causing bodily harm and disfigurement. Collins was then placed in handcuffs and secured in the back of my patrol vehicle.
Bartow County Fire responded to evaluate [VICTIM #1]’s injuries. [VICTIM #1] refused EMS transport to the hospital but stated that his cousin, [REDACTED], would take him for further medical treatment.
During my investigation, I captured photographs of [VICTIM #1]’s facial injuries, the blood stains located in front of Collins’s apartment door, and Collins’s bloody knuckles.
I then transported Collins to the Bartow County Detention Center without further incident.
[End of Narrative]
