On Thursday, November 6th, 2025 at approximately 0913 hours, I responded to 1129 North Tennessee Street (AMC Movie Theater) in reference to a male subject that had stated he just shot three (3) people at an address off of Tennessee Street.

Upon arrival, a male subject, later identified as Dan Williams, matching the description given by Bartow Dispatch was observed in the parking lot of the above mentioned. Due to the nature of the call my department issued Glock 47 was displayed. Mr. Williams was given commands to show me his hands to which he complied. Mr Williams would keep his hands above his head as officers approached him to detain him. Mr. Williams was found to be in possession of a firearm in his waistband and was disarmed of his Springfield XDM 9mm. Mr. Williams was detained at this time with handcuffs behind the back, double locked, checked for proper fit, due to the nature of the call and having a firearm on his person.

Mr. Williams stated he would not disclose the location where the alleged crime had taken place until he spoke with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Several officers relocated to the address where the original call had pinged and began to clear the apartment. The apartment was cleared with no sign of a crime had being committed. Mr. Williams’ apartment was searched yielding no evidence that a crime had occurred at this location. Mr. Williams would be searched prior to transport yielding no contraband and no further weapons.

Mr. Williams would be placed in the rear seat of my marked patrol unit where it was searched prior to shift and before and after each transport yielding no contraband. Mr. Williams would be transported to the Cartersville Police Department where he would be interviewed by FBI agent B. Hill. Mr. Williams would disclose to Agent Hill no crime had occurred and he only made the call to emergency services in an attempt to “get the attention of the FBI”.

Mr. Williams would be placed in the rear seat of Officer Lowell’s patrol vehicle where it was searched prior to shift and before and after each transport yielding no contraband. Mr. Williams would be transported to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office where he was released to jail staff.

The firearm, a Silver/ Black Springfield XDM 9 millimeter, was placed in evidence at Cartersville Police Department. Warrants were secured for False Report of a Crime as well as Transmission of a Public Alarm. Copies were attached to the report.
