On February 9th, 2026, at approximately 0001 hours, I responded to [300 BLOCK] Wade Rd, Taylorsville, Ga 30178 in reference to a subject pulling a firearm on firefighters while on a medical call.
Deputies were able to detain the suspect, David Williams, on the porch of the residence in handcuffs. I asked David where the firearm was, to which he stated there was not one. I then asked [WITNESS #1], who was also on scene, where the firearm was. [WITNESS #1] stated there was no firearm, only a toy gun. I located a black and camouflaged toy gun on the floor of the living room.
I then went and spoke with fire personnel, [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2], [VICTIM #1] stated they had responded to the residence for a medical call for a male with a colostomy bag filling with blood and feeling like he was going to pass out.
[VICTIM #1] stated that when they arrived on scene, David was on the porch swinging his arms. [VICTIM #1] stated that once they began speaking with him on the porch, David walked inside the residence and pushed down a cushion on the couch. [VICTIM #1] stated that they observed that David grabbed what appeared to be a stock of a gun from behind the cushion and began to pull it out. [VICTIM #1] stated he and [VICTIM #2] exited the residence and went back to the fire truck when David pulled the gun from behind the cushion in fear of being harmed. [VICTIM #1] stated they were unaware and could not tell that the gun was a toy. [VICTIM #1] stated they also noticed that David did not have a colostomy bag, which is a reason for their response.
I then spoke with David. David stated he had called for Fire and EMS because he felt like he was going to pass out and was having “pins and needles” pain. I noticed David was sweating profusely while still outside on the porch. It should be noted that the temperature was approximately 43 degrees at the time of the incident. I also observed that David’s eyes were dilated while speaking with him. I asked David when the last time he used Methamphetamine. David stated it was the day prior. David stated he pulled the toy gun out from the couch and swung it because he felt like someone was stabbing him. Based on my knowledge, training, and experience, I recognized David to be under the influence of narcotics.
I then again spoke with [WITNESS #1]. I asked [WITNESS #1] what had happened when the fire department had arrived on scene. [WITNESS #1] stated David was “fighting,” but there was nothing there. [WITNESS #1] stated she observed David grab the plastic gun and begin fighting again with nothing. I observed a broken glass dish on the table and on the ground. I also observed a broken picture frame on the ground behind the couch. [WITNESS #1] stated that after she grabbed the toy gun from David, he took a baseball bat and hit the glass dish while fighting with no one there.
At this time, David was placed under arrest. I checked the handcuffs for proper fit and double-locked them. I transported David to the Bartow County Jail without incident. I applied for state warrants for David for Disorderly Conduct and obstructing or hindering firefighters.
