On May 26th, 2026, at approximately 2329 hours, I responded to Circle K located at 5646 Hwy 20, Cartersville, GA 30121 in reference to a trespassing.
Upon arrival, I met with a store employee and the complainant, [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated there was a female wearing yellow shoes that has been in the parking lot for an extended period of time. [WITNESS #1] stated there was also a male with her walking around the parking lot. [WITNESS #1] stated that the female and male were walking around the exterior of the building, as well as the gas pumps. [WITNESS #1] stated that both parties had been at the business for more than 30 minutes. [WITNESS #1] stated that seeing the subjects walking around the business and the gas pumps appeared suspicious. [WITNESS #1] stated he wished for both of the subjects to leave the property. [WITNESS #1] then pointed out a female outside wearing yellow shoes and stated that she was the one he was speaking about.
I then went outside and asked for the female’s identification. The female stated she did not have an ID. I asked if the female was from here. The female stated that she is not, and stated that I told her that I would give her a ride previously in the day. I advised the female that I did not speak with her. I asked the female her name. I also advised the female that the store wanted her to leave, but that I still needed to identify her. The female gave me the name and date of birth of (Dedrah Johnson [REDACTED BY AGENCY]). The female continued to try to walk away from me. I advised the female that she was not free to leave. I had Bartow County dispatch run the name and date of birth given through GCIC.
The female continued to try to walk away from me and Deputy A. Williams, who was on scene to assist. The female was advised to stop walking away, but she began yelling and acting disorderly towards deputies. The female continued yelling and stepped up to Deputy Williams as if she was going to attack him. Deputy Williams and I then attempted to detain the female in handcuffs due to her actions. The female then began resisting and tried to run away from deputies. Due to all parties standing and the female continuing to resist and not follow orders from deputies, to prevent any injury to deputies, I performed a leg sweep on the female, taking her to the ground. Once on the ground, deputies were able to successfully place her in handcuffs while she continued resisting.
While on the ground, the female began to scratch the back of my hand while I was holding her handcuffs. The female’s bag had to be cut due to having straps around her arms. Deputies then began escorting her to my patrol vehicle. Once at the patrol vehicle, the female continued yelling obscenities and kicked the side of my patrol vehicle. The female continued to try to pull away from both Deputy Williams and me while we checked her for weapons. The female was then instructed to get into the rear seat of my patrol vehicle. The female continued to not cooperate and had to be forcefully placed into the rear seat of my patrol vehicle.
I checked the parking lot for the other male that [WITNESS #1] stated he wanted to leave. I was unable to locate the male subject. I transported the female to the Bartow County Jail. While en route to the jail, the female continued to yell obscenities towards me and at one point stated she was going to “spit in my face”. The female continued to yell statements that did not make sense while on the way to jail. Once at the jail, I asked the female for her name and date of birth. The female again advised “Dedrah Johnson [REDACTED BY AGENCY]”. The female continued to resist with the jail staff.
On 05/26/2026, approximately 1900 hours, I was able to identify Dedrah Deshaun Johnson, date of birth [REDACTED BY AGENCY], from Indiana. I obtained a state warrant for Dedrah for Obstruction of officers Felony x2, and disorderly conduct.
