On Sunday, May 18, 2025, at approximately 0038 hours, I responded to Highway 411 at its intersection with Ellis Road in reference to an accident involving a vehicle rollover. Prior to my arrival, Bartow dispatch advised me that the occupants of the vehicle were attempting to crawl out on the ground.

Upon my arrival, I noticed a white vehicle in the front yard of [200 BLOCK] Ellis Road against a power pole, lying on its driver’s side. Upon approaching the vehicle, I observed a black male, later identified as Mr. Devonte Jenkins, standing outside attempting to get a baby out of a car seat. I immediately smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person and breath. Once the baby was out of the car seat, I took the child and handed him over to a firefighter who had just arrived on the scene. I spoke to Mr. Jenkins, who kept stating that he could not find his other child. Mr. Jenkins told me what the other juvenile was wearing, which I observed the juvenile still trapped inside the back seat of the vehicle in a car seat. Firefighters quickly started to remove the child from the vehicle after she was spotted.

Once the children were removed from the vehicle and receiving medical attention, GSP arrived on scene and took over the investigation. I asked Bartow Dispatch to have a helicopter en route for both children. GSP placed Mr Jenkins under arrest for DUI while on scene.
