On Friday, April 24, 2026, at 2110 hours, I was dispatched to [5300 BLOCK] Groovers Landing Road SE [REDACTED], Acworth, GA 30102, for a domestic dispute in progress.
I spoke to [VICTIM #1] on arrival, who explained that she was sitting at the kitchen table. Her roommate, Diana Durden, came into the kitchen with her walking cane and, unexpectedly and without provocation, hit [VICTIM #1] on the right leg once with the cane. [VICTIM #1] grabbed the cane to prevent further injuries from Diana, and in the process was hit on the left hand.
I observed redness on [VICTIM #1]’s left hand and noticed a cut on the thumb. I did not see redness on her leg. [VICTIM #1] indicated that it takes a few days for her skin to begin bruising. Photos of the injuries were taken on my body-worn camera.
After Diana hit [VICTIM #1], she grabbed some water from the sink and said to [VICTIM #1], “I dare you to call the pigs again.” This comment stems from the previous encounter between them, in which I responded earlier (Case 2026-00012339). [VICTIM #1] was informed about a voluntary statement, and she agreed to fill one out. I read and explained the notice of liability, and she proceeded to write down the order of the incident. Once she was finished, I read over the statement, which appeared consistent with what she had explained to me verbally.
I moved to Diana’s bedroom and asked her to explain, but she denied hitting [VICTIM #1] and offered no further explanation. After seeing marks on [VICTIM #1] and along with a voluntary statement, I proceeded to place Diana under arrest for Battery on a person who is over 65. This is family violence since both females live in the same household.
Handcuffs were applied, checked for fit, and double locked. Diana was searched incident to arrest without discovery of weapons or contraband. She was subsequently transported and released to staff at the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office. A case number was given to [VICTIM #1] along with the victim’s information.
