On Thursday, April 23, 2026, at approximately 1506 hours, I arrived at 106 S Tennessee St (Park Ave Thrift) in reference to a larceny in progress. The complainant provided a detailed vehicle description—a white Jeep truck—and an accurate license plate number (GA Tag) for the suspect’s vehicle.

Bartow County Dispatch broadcasted this description to responding officers. Shortly after my arrival, Sgt. Cooney located the vehicle near the intersection of GA 113 and N Dixie Ave. Sgt. Cooney and Ofc. Chapman initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle at that location. Upon approach, the suspect, Ms. Dorothy Jones, immediately stated that she had not taken anything. Given the matching vehicle and license plate, Ofc. Chapman detained Ms. Jones.

While at 106 S Tennessee St, I reviewed surveillance footage with Complainant, which showed the suspect—an older white female, wearing a maroon/red shirt with blonde hair. Complainant did wish to press charges against the suspect at this time. This matched the description of the female found in the suspect’s vehicle. At this point, Sgt. Cooney and Ofc. Chapman placed Ms. Jones under arrest. Complainant stated she witnessed the suspect take multiple articles of clothing and possibly dishes, placing them into her purse. Based on this information, I relocated to the suspect’s vehicle to assist officers in locating the stolen property.

On scene, officers located one pair of red Lululemon leggings, one Michael Kors shirt, three bras, five candles, four shirts, and a small brown bag (which was empty). The recovered items were returned to 106 S Tennessee St, where Complainant identified all items—except for one bra and the brown bag—as belonging to the store. Identification was made based on price tags still attached, staples from removed tags, or visible staple marks, as well as the candles being part of a unique set from the store. The two items not identified as store property were returned to 323 E Church St (Northwest Communities Real Estate Group), where Ms. [REDACTED] is employed.

Ms. Jones was placed in the rear of Ofc. Chapman’s marked department-issued vehicle and transported to 104 Zena Dr (BCSO) without incident. After leaving 323 E Church St, I relocated to 195 Cassville Rd, where I obtained a warrant for theft by shoplifting (M) (WNO CE-0180421). Complainant was provided a Polaris citizens upload link so she or store security could upload camera footage of the incident.
