On May 11, 2026, at 1704 hours, I was dispatched to [90 BLOCK] Kingston Highway, Cartersville, GA 30120, in reference to a domestic dispute in progress. It should be noted that a previous report had been taken earlier this morning regarding an alleged aggravated assault that was determined to be unfounded.
Upon my arrival, I entered the residence and observed Emilia Ford sitting on a couch on the left side of the room, [VICTIM #1] sitting in a recliner in the middle of the room, and [WITNESS #1] sitting on a couch on the right side near the door. All parties appeared calm, and no argument or physical interaction was occurring at that time.
When speaking with Emilia, she stated that her mother, [VICTIM #1], had been slapping her in the face and hitting her while she was on the phone with 911. Emilia later changed her statement, advising that [VICTIM #1] had struck her with a closed fist on the right side of her face. Emilia also stated Bartow County Dispatch could hear her being hit while she was on the phone with 911. I later checked with Bartow County Dispatch, who advised they were unable to hear any physical altercation occurring during the call. I did not observe any redness, swelling, bruising, or other visible injuries to the area she claimed was struck. Emilia then repeatedly asked when Metro EMS would arrive so [VICTIM #1] could receive a mental evaluation. Emilia stated the argument began over [VICTIM #1]’s medication.
When speaking with [VICTIM #1], she stated she never struck Emilia and advised that Emilia needed help because she had been screaming over medication that [VICTIM #1] had already taken.
I then spoke with [WITNESS #1], who stated Emilia had made [VICTIM #1] leave the residence following the incident earlier this morning. [WITNESS #1] stated he returned with [VICTIM #1] to the residence at approximately 1400 hours because [VICTIM #1] needed to take medication at 1800 hours. [WITNESS #1] further stated Emilia was not responsible for managing [VICTIM #1]’s medication and that [VICTIM #1] had taken the correct dosage at the appropriate times. When asked about any physical altercation, [WITNESS #1] stated he had been present the entire time and, although Emilia had been yelling, no physical altercation had occurred.
When confronted with the conflicting statements and lack of evidence, Emilia changed her account again, stating [VICTIM #1] had only attempted to hit her. Based on the investigation, witness statements, and lack of physical evidence, I determined the allegation of simple battery to be false and made in an attempt to have [VICTIM #1] removed from the residence by EMS.
Emilia Ford was placed under arrest for filing a false report. Emilia was placed in handcuffs behind her back, double locked, and checked for fit and safety. Emilia was searched for weapons and illegal substances using the back of my hands in front of my body-worn camera. No weapons or illegal substances were located.
Emilia was then placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle and transported to the Bartow County Jail without incident.
