On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 0219 hours, I was dispatched to [1200 BLOCK] Joe Frank Harris Parkway, apartment [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic in progress. Prior to arrival, Bartow Dispatch advised per the complainant, Erica Anderson, left the location in a blue in color Toyota Ray 4, bearing GA tag [REDACTED].
Deputy Andrew Williams located the vehicle at Joe Frank Harris Parkway and Grassdale Road, and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Deputy Williams and I met with the driver, who was in fact, Erica Anderson. Erica was observed to have a busted bloody lip, indicating some form of a physical altercation.
I asked Erica what happened, to which she advised, she was texting a male, and her sister, [VICTIM #1], didn’t like that, which started a argument and intensified. Erica was asked what intensified, to which she advised she and [VICTIM #1] began to hit each other. I asked Erica who hit who first, to which she asked she did not know, due to things happening so fast.
I responded to the above listed address and spoke with [VICTIM #1]. I initially observed [VICTIM #1] to have a swollen and bruised left eye, small lacerations to her nose, under her right eye and to the side of her right eye. [VICTIM #1] advised Erica was texting one of her and her husband, [WITNESS #1]’s, friends, to which she advised her that she did not think that was a good idea. [VICTIM #1] advised Erica became angry and hostile. [VICTIM #1] advised she went inside and Erica followed her inside still arguing with her. [VICTIM #1] advised Erica began trying to leave the apartment, and was trying to stop her from driving, due to her having numerous glasses of wine.
[VICTIM #1] advised she was standing in front of the door and Erica was again trying to leave. [VICTIM #1] advised she told Erica she did not want her to leave because she was intoxicated. [VICTIM #1] advised she had to push Erica away from her, at which point Erica grabs a half empty large glass bottle of wine, and threw it at [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised the glass wine bottle struck her in the left eye, causing the swelling and bruising around her left eye. [VICTIM #1] advised the bottle hit the floor and shattered at her feet. Due to the bottle being half empty with liquid, being glass and larger in size, could have resulted in serious injuries to [VICTIM #1]’s eye if shattered in her face.
[VICTIM #1] advised she punched Erica in the mouth, where they both went to the ground and continued fighting. [VICTIM #1] advised Erica got her on her back and began biting her in the nose, and right eye, 3 different times. [VICTIM #1] had small bloody lacerations about her nose, under her right eye and to the side of her right eye.
[WITNESS #1] advised he did not see the physical altercation, but did observe the broken wine bottle, and numerous bags of chips being thrown across the apartment by Erica.
Photos were taken on my BWC of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries. Deputy Williams took photos of Erica’s injuries and placed her under arrest for aggravated assault and Battery FVA. Erica’s father, [REDACTED], picked her vehicle up from the scene.
Deputy Williams transported Erica to the Battow County Detention center and released to jail staff.
Warrants were secured against Erica.
