On Saturday May 31, 2025, at approximately 0947 hours I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Overlook Parkway (Prose Apartments) in reference to a domestic in progress. Upon my arrival contact was made with the victim.
Victim stated her ex boyfriend Mr. Ernie Banks arrived at her apartment and when she opened the door Mr. Banks forced himself inside the apartment and began strangling her with his hands around her neck in the kitchen area. Victim stated she almost lost consciousness while Mr. Banks was strangling her. Victim stated while the altercation was going on, her daughter was within hearing distance of the altercation in the bed room next door. Victim stated once she was able to get away from Mr. Banks she grabbed her daughter and left out of the apartment and went to the building next door and called law enforcement. Victim stated while she was retreating from her apartment Mr. Banks grabbed her keys to her 2019 Chevrolet Malibu Black in color bearing GA tag and began to demand Victim to take him home, Victim told Mr. Banks no and continued away from the apartment. Victim stated after she told Mr. Banks no he began to drive away in her car. Victim state Mr. Banks then parked her vehicle outside her apartment and entered her apartment. I went to the apartment and began to check to see if Mr. Banks was still inside.
Before entering the apartment I observed Victim’s vehicle key laying on the ground in the breeze way just outside her apartment door. The key was broken into multiple pieces as if it were thrown on the ground intentionally to damage the key. I then entered inside the apartment. While inside the apartment I observed multiple items that had been thrown across the apartment. I observed a dish soap sprayed on the walls of the apartment and observed victim’s bed frame to be broken. While inside Victim stated the bed was not broken before Mr. Banks entered into the apartment. Victim’s Key’s to her apartment and mailbox along with the key fob that opens the gate to the apartment were also taken from the apartment and was located at or near the residence.
Mr. Banks was not located at the residence or on the property.
Victim estimated the value of the damages as follows.
Bed Frame- $200.00
Car Key- $500.00
Car Radio- $500.00
