On May 3rd, 2026, at approximately 1515 hours, I was dispatched to White Columns Rehabilitation Center located at 45 East Howard Street in Kingston in reference to an assault that happened earlier in the day.
Upon arrival, I met with [VICTIM #1], who is a patient at white columns. [VICTIM #1] told me that earlier today, around 1330 hours, Grace Bondurant asked her if she could use her vape. [VICTIM #1] said no, which caused Grace to become agitated by calling [VICTIM #1] rude, telling her to kill herself, and she threw her shoes at [VICTIM #1]’s back.
Grace then pushed [VICTIM #1], causing her to fall over onto a small outdoor table. Shortly after, at the theatre on the property, Grace saw [VICTIM #1] again and threw a metal water bottle at the back of her head.
[VICTIM #1] did not gain any injuries from the shoes being thrown at her; however, I did notice slight bruising to the inside of her right arm that [VICTIM #1] said she believes was caused by Grace pushing her down onto the table. [VICTIM #1] also had a slight welt on the back of her head from the water bottle being thrown at her.
I also spoke with [WITNESS #1], a behavioral health specialist at White Columns. [WITNESS #1] said she witnessed everything that happened between Grace and [VICTIM #1], and that it started when everyone was out for lunch. [WITNESS #1] said the only thing she did not witness was the metal water bottle being thrown at [VICTIM #1]’s head. [WITNESS #1]’s description of what happened coincided with [VICTIM #1]’s statement. [WITNESS #1] said that she called us out because [VICTIM #1] wanted to press charges against Grace. [WITNESS #1] also told me that Grace is a high-functioning autistic.
I spoke with Grace and asked her what happened. Grace said that she went into the movie theatre and “flipped someone off’ and she did not remember what [VICTIM #1] said, but it “set her off,” and she ended up hitting [VICTIM #1] with her water bottle. Grace also said she pushed her over because she thought she was talking about her, but it turned out she wasn’t.
Grace also demonstrated how she pushed [VICTIM #1] by putting both of her hands out in front of her and pushing. I asked Grace if [VICTIM #1] had fallen into a table, and she said yes. I also asked Grace if she threw her shoes at [VICTIM #1], and she said yes and that the shoes hit [VICTIM #1] in the back. Grace said that everything started because [VICTIM #1] wouldn’t let her use her vape.
I asked Grace if she understood why she was at the facility, and she said yes and that she was there because she has behavioral health issues and a marijuana addiction.
I placed Grace into handcuffs, double locked them, checked for proper fitment, and told Grace that she was under arrest for aggravated assault for throwing the water bottle at the back of [VICTIM #1]’s head. I walked Grace to my patrol car, patted her down with the back of my hand, and placed her in the back seat.
I transported Grace to the Bartow County Jail. I obtained a warrant for aggravated assault for throwing the water bottle at [VICTIM #1]’s head, which caused a small welt on her head, and a warrant for battery for pushing [VICTIM #1], causing her to fall into a table and gain slight bruising to her right arm.
