On January 10th, 2026 around 1055 hours I was dispatched to [300 BLOCK] Kingston Hwy Cartersville, Ga 30120 in reference to a physical domestic. The caller, [WITNESS #1], said she was called by her stepdaughter [VICTIM #1] and asked to come get the kids. While on the phone with [VICTIM #1], Gregory Davis could be heard in the background yelling/cussing at [VICTIM #1]. She had asked [WITNESS #1] to come get her kids because of how Gregory was acting. [WITNESS #1] told dispatch that she could hear it was physical. Multiple Deputies later arrived on scene.

Once on scene I spoke with [VICTIM #1]. She stated they woke up this morning and Gregory immediately began yelling at their daughter [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She stated this is when she knew she wanted to leave the house with the kids. She wanted her and the kids to be away from Gregory’s erratic behavior. Gregory then went out to smoke a cigarette, during this time [VICTIM #1] called her step-mother [WITNESS #1] to make plans to leave. Gregory overheard this conversation and became extremely irate. [VICTIM #1] stated that because she wanted to leave, Gregory kept getting into their only vehicle, to keep her from using it. Gregory then took the vehicle to the end of the driveway to close the gate so law enforcement would be unable to get to the house. Gregory overheard that [WITNESS #1] called 911. [VICTIM #1] then stated she contacted her landlord so the gate would be kept open for law enforcement.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that her father took a painting off the wall and threw it to the floor during the argument. At this time all three children, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] became scared and went to the back bedroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] recorded several audio recordings that capture Gregory screaming cussing at [VICTIM #1] about wanting to leave.

While in the room [VICTIM #1] stated she heard a loud noise then her mother yelling, this told me the children could hear [VICTIM #1] but struck. [VICTIM #1] was still on the phone with [WITNESS #1] while this was occurring. [WITNESS #1] was on the phone with [VICTIM #1] when Gregory slapped the phone out of [VICTIM #1]’s hand causing it to hit the left side of her face and made it fly across the living room of the house. None of the children witnessed this incident.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] also stated that she witnessed Gregory stomp on [VICTIM #1]’s feet while she was sitting on the couch before he walked outside to get into their vehicle. While speaking with [VICTIM #1], I could see that the left side of her face was more swollen than the other, indicating she was struck in the face. I asked her where she was stuck in the face and she pointed to the left side. I observed redness on [VICTIM #1]’s feet around her toe’s and possibly early stages of bruising. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was in physical pain when she was hit in the face and when her feet were stomped on.

While speaking with Gregory he stated that they had been in an argument but it was not physical. He stated that [VICTIM #1] probably hit her head on the wall intentionally, to have him arrested. I had not yet mentioned to him that I knew [VICTIM #1] was injured.

Due to Gregory’s children being outside and in view of him I asked him to step to my patrol where they could not see us place him under arrest. Gregory immediately became combative and reached out with both of his hands to grab me. I took control of his wrists and told him to place his hands behind his back. He did not comply with that lawful order so I placed hit right arm behind his back, Deputy Wallen had control of the left arm. During this time he was pulling away from me with his right arm, I was able to maintain control of his right arm as he attempted to flee on foot. Deputy Wallen had control of the left arm during this time and Gregory was placed into handcuffs.

While Deputy Wallen and I walked Gregory to my patrol vehicle, we maintained control of his arms due to his attempt to flee and being uncooperative. While walking I was on Gregory’s right side and he was pushing on me in an attempt to walk towards the victim’s. I used my body and a small push to redirect him to the patrol car in the other direction from the victim’s. In result of this Gregory forced himself to fall to the ground, he claimed that he only had one working foot and was unable to walk. Prior to being placed in handcuffs Gregory was walking just fine all around the driveway and did not complain of any medical problems with his foot. Gregory also complained of a broken jaw, he was speaking the same way as before he was arrested and I did not see any abnormalities in his jaw area.

Gregory was told to get up many times by deputies and refused to do so, he claimed he was unable to due to his foot being fake. Because he would not walk on his own Deputy C.Clark, Deputy Wallen and I had to carry Gregory to my patrol car. Once at the car, Gregory refused to get into the car so we had to put him into the car without his aid. He claimed to have a fake leg and was unable to stand on it. Once in the car I checked Gregory’s feet and legs for injury, he was uninjured and did not have a prosthetic leg or foot. While in the rear of my patrol car Gregory acting as if he passed out.

Deputy Wallen began to evaluate him and Gregory immediately opened his eyes and spoke to Deputy Wallen. This was an obvious attempt to falsely seek medical attention. Gregory told me there was metal sticking out of his foot, I pointed to a piece of grass that he directed me to. Gregory said that was the metal sticking out of his foot, I picked it up with a handcuff key and showed him it was just grass from where he threw himself to the ground. Once I told Gregory that he was going to the jail and no where else his entire persona changed. He went from screaming in pain to a normal tone while he cussed at me. He told me he would have to be carried into the jail because he was going to refuse to walk.

Gregory was transported to the jail, during this drive Gregory did not complain of any of the prior injury’s he complain about before. Once at the jail he exited my patrol car on his own and walked into the jail. This made it obvious that he was not injured as he said he was before.

Gregory was booked into the Bartow County Jail on Battery FVA, Cruelty to Children 3rd and one count of Obstruction (M). The rear prisoner area of my patrol car was searched and no contraband found.

Photos of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries were documented on my body worn camera. Videos taken on scene prior to law enforcement arrival have been uploaded to Coreforce.

Arrest Warrants were secured.
