On June 28th, 2026, at approximately 1317 hours, I was dispatched to 125 Red Top Beach Road, Acworth, GA 30102 in reference to a dispute involving a firearm. The complainant was [REDACTED].

Upon arrival, Dep. Kimbel #938, Dep. Desai #966 and I met with [REDACTED], and another female, [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1]’s children, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (8 years old) and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (7 years old) were also present.

[REDACTED] did not actually witness this incident. She called 911 after [WITNESS #1] requested her to.

I spoke with [WITNESS #1]. She stated the following:

She and her children were at the edge of the water, and the children were playing and having a good time. The suspect, Hannah Lewis, was near them but got upset about [WITNESS #1]’s children being loud and being in the way. Hannah and [WITNESS #1] became engaged in an argument. Hannah went to her vehicle, a white Ford Bronco, GA tag # [REDACTED], and retrieved a black handgun from near the center console. Hannah brandished the firearm and waved it around but did not point it at anyone. [WITNESS #1] told Hannah she did not understand why she was bringing out firearm and Hannah responded “It’s 2026”. Hannah eventually put the gun down on the seat of her vehicle.

We observed Hannah in the water. We approached her and asked her to come to shore. I spoke with her. She stated the following:

She got into an argument with [WITNESS #1] about her kids along the shoreline. Hannah did admit that she went to her vehicle and grabbed her firearm. She stated that, prior to her retrieving the firearm, it was tucked between the driver seat and center console. She put the firearm into the center console and locked it. She gave us consent to remove the firearm from the vehicle. Dep. Kimbel removed it, and observed it to be a black Taurus G2S 9mm handgun, serial # AEG480256. The firearm had five 9mm rounds in the magazine, but no round in the chamber.

O.C.G.A. 16-11-126(f) permits the possession of weapons on all park property in the state of Georgia, “provided, however, that a person shall not carry a handgun into a place where it is prohibited by federal law”.

The park property that this incident occurred on is owned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Possessing a firearm on the property is prohibited under federal law: U.S. Title 36 CFR 327.13. This law applies to any property owned by the Corps of Engineers and states the following:

The possession of loaded firearms, ammunition, loaded projectile firing devices, bows and arrows, crossbows, or other weapons is prohibited unless:

(1)In the possession of a Federal, state or local law enforcement officer;
(2)Being used for hunting or fishing as permitted under § 327.8, with devices being unloaded when transported to, from or between hunting and fishing sites;
(3)Being used at authorized shooting ranges; or
(4)Written permission has been received from the District Commander.

I placed Hannah under arrest. She requested for her vehicle to be left at the park and she will arrange for it to be removed later. She was placed in my patrol vehicle. I kept the firearm, its magazine, and ammunition as evidence.

I transported Hannah to Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, where she was booked into the jail.

I obtained warrant # CE-0182033, charging Hannah with O.C.G.A. 16-11-126(f) (Carrying Firearm Where Federally Prohibited)

I placed all seized items into evidence at Bartow County Sheriff’s Office.
