On Thursday, July 10, 2025 at approximately 1218 hours, I was dispatched to 960 Joe Frank Harris Parkway (Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center) in reference to an assault report.
Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim who stated he resides at [20 BLOCK] Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Victim stated he lives with his girlfriend, Hilda Lux Mateo, and has since November, 2024. Victim stated Ms. Lux Mateo arrives home from work around midnight and approximately two days prior, she arrived around 1245 am. Victim stated the two live upstairs in the residence so he waits her her down stairs. Victim stated when the two started up stairs, Ms. Lux Mateo began laughing at him and saying the relationship was no longer working.
[VICTIM #1] stated he began asking Ms. Lux Mateo for her phone, stating there has to be a reason she is not happy in the relationship. Victim stated Ms. Lux Mateo refused and the two went to the kitchen where an argument ensued. Victim stated Ms. Lux Mateo grabbed three small kitchen knives and attempted to stab him. By doing this, she sliced the tip of his left ring finger and then stabbed his stomach. Victim stated Ms. Lux Mateo stopped and left when she saw him laying on the ground covered in blood. Victim stated he was scared he was going to die. Victim stated the knives were stainless steel, straight filed with brown handles. After stabbing him, he stated Ms. Lux Mateo entered her room and stayed there. He further stated that when he woke up the next morning, she was no longer at home.
Victim stated Ms. Lux Mateo works at 200 River Point Road (and goes by the name Yoanna Hernandez), but stated she may not return. Victim stated Ms. Lux Mateo stabbed him last month in the wrist as well and did not return for approximately a week.

A warrant was obtained for Aggravated Assault and a copy was attached to the report.
Investigator Wilkey was notified and the case was turned over to him.
