On July 13th, 2026, at 1918 hours, I was dispatched to [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, I spoke with [VICTIM #1] (victim), who stated he came to pick up his vehicle to take to the dealership since the insurance is about to expire on it, so it can be picked up. [VICTIM #1] stated he is giving the car back so that it can be sent back to Florida so his license wouldn’t be suspended for not having insurance on the car. [VICTIM #1] stated he is currently in an active divorce with his wife, Indya Jean-Louis (suspect). [VICTIM #1] stated he also came to retrieve his firearm (Glock 19 9mm) to take with him. [VICTIM #1] stated once he arrived at his house, he noticed a male in his front yard.

[VICTIM #1] stated he went upstairs after he retrieved his firearm from the kitchen where he had it hidden so his children couldn’t get to it. [VICTIM #1] stated he secured his firearm in his front waistband in its concealed holster. [VICTIM #1] stated he went to his bedroom and asked Indya why she had another guy here in his house, which he pays the bills for. [VICTIM #1] stated after he asked Indya about the male at his house, he went downstairs to the garage, and she followed him. [VICTIM #1] stated that Indya kept asking him why he was even here, and he told her that this is his house and that he was allowed to be there. [VICTIM #1] stated he went into the garage where the vehicle was parked and noticed the passenger door was open, so he went around the car to shut it. [VICTIM #1] stated the keys were in the vehicle, and Indya jumped in the car and backed it out of the garage.

[VICTIM #1] stated that after Indya backed the car out of the garage, he went over to her and asked for the keys. [VICTIM #1] stated he told Indya he was taking the car back because the insurance would be canceled and he was surrendering it. [VICTIM #1] stated that he and Indya got into a verbal argument, and he attempted to retrieve the keys from her hand, but she wouldn’t let go. [VICTIM #1] stated Indya pushed him and started hitting him, which was captured on their Blink doorbell camera. [VICTIM #1] stated that after Indya hit him, the male whom he believes is her new boyfriend intervened to separate them. [VICTIM #1] stated the male told Indya there was no need to hit him and that he could help her get another car. [VICTIM #1] stated that after Indya was separated from him, she went inside the house, and he called 911.

I went inside the house and spoke with Indya. Indya stated she has no idea why [VICTIM #1] would be here since he hasn’t lived here since May of 2026. Indya stated she was upstairs in her bedroom putting clothes on their son, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (victim), and [VICTIM #1] walked in with his shirt raised to where she could see his firearm concealed in his waistband. Indya stated [VICTIM #1] asked her about her male friend who was at the house. Indya stated that she got scared, so she went downstairs holding [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to get away from [VICTIM #1]. Indya stated she was getting ready to leave to go pick up dinner for everyone. Indya stated that when she went to the garage to get in the car, [VICTIM #1] charged at her and tried to get the keys from her. Indya stated that while tussling over the keys with [VICTIM #1], he grabbed them and started to twist them around her hand. Indya stated she told [VICTIM #1] to back up, and he did. Indya stated she was shaking and freaking out, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was crying, so she got into the car and backed it out of the garage to leave, but stopped because she remembered her other child was still inside with the babysitter, [WITNESS #1].

Indya stated she got out of the car to go back inside the house, and [VICTIM #1] was still coming after her for the car keys. Indya stated she told [VICTIM #1] this wasn’t his car and that it was both of theirs.

When asked about the physical altercation that was captured on the doorbell camera, Indya stated she did it because she was in fear of her life. Indya advised me no one was around to witness her and [VICTIM #1] in the bedroom when he had his shirt up, showing his firearm that was in his waistband. Indya stated there were no verbal threats made, nor was there any property damage.

I went back and spoke with [VICTIM #1] about him being in the bedroom with Indya. [VICTIM #1] stated that before he went upstairs to the bedroom, he retrieved his firearm from the kitchen above the microwave. [VICTIM #1] stated he was wearing loose clothing and could tell he had his firearm on him, and he was asking Indya about her bringing other people into his house. [VICTIM #1] stated during the conversation with Indya he never brandished his firearm, nor did he make any threats with it. [VICTIM #1] stated no one was in the bedroom with him, Indya, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #1] stated the male was standing outside and [WITNESS #1] was sitting in the living room on the couch.

I spoke with [WITNESS #1], who stated she was sitting in the living room on the couch. [WITNESS #1] stated she observed [VICTIM #1] go upstairs and could hear both [VICTIM #1] and Indya arguing. [WITNESS #1] stated she never saw [VICTIM #1] come into the kitchen to grab his gun, but she also wasn’t paying attention because she was playing on her phone. [WITNESS #1] stated she could hear Indya mention something about a gun during her and [VICTIM #1]’s conversation, but she had no clue what happened inside the room. [WITNESS #1] stated she never observed anything that occurred outside either because she was inside watching the children. [WITNESS #1] stated she never heard any threats made during the conversation between Indya and [VICTIM #1].

I spoke with [WITNESS #2] (witness), who was the male standing outside during the physical altercation. [WITNESS #2] stated [VICTIM #1] and Indya were tussling over the car keys. [WITNESS #2] stated he observed Indya push [VICTIM #1] and hit him a couple of times. [WITNESS #2] stated during the altercation, Indya had [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in her left arm, holding him and about dropped him twice. [WITNESS #2] stated he was never inside the house when [VICTIM #1] came over. [WITNESS #2] stated he never observed [VICTIM #1] brandish his firearm or make any threats during the physical altercation. [WITNESS #2] stated he could tell [VICTIM #1] had a gun on him due to the way he was walking and holding the front of his waistband.

I observed the Blink doorbell camera footage and observed Indya push [VICTIM #1] and hit him multiple times while holding [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in her arms. In the video, I observed [VICTIM #1] and Indya tussling over the car keys before she pushed him and hit him. [VICTIM #1] sent the video to me through the citizen upload link. I observed marks on [VICTIM #1]’s right forearm and wrist, and I was advised by [VICTIM #1] that he was punched in the face, but there were no marks or blood. Pictures of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries were captured on a department-issued body-worn camera. [VICTIM #1] stated he didn’t need any medical attention.

Due to the video and [VICTIM #1]’s injuries, Indya was placed under arrest for battery FVA. In the video, I observed Indya holding [REDACTED BY AGENCY] while in a physical altercation with [VICTIM #1], and she was charged with cruelty to children 3rd degree. Indya was placed in handcuffs to the rear and placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle. Indya was transported to the Bartow County Jail and turned over to the jail staff without further incident.

Due to conflicting statements and no witnesses to the accusation of [VICTIM #1] brandishing his firearm, the charge of simple assault FVA has been unfounded.
