On Tuesday, May 19 2026 at approximately 0028 hours I responded to 1395 US-411 S (Speedway) to assist DTF agent Weldon on a traffic stop with an intoxicated driver. Deputy Weldon stated that he noticed the driver having trouble maintaining lane on Peeples Valley Rd. and stated that the driver almost had a head on collision in the Speedway parking lot.
I made contact with the suspect Mr. Javaid Chaudhry who had already been pulled out of the car by Deputy Weldon. I noticed watery eyes, alcohol admitting from his breath, throw up on the side of his car and urine on the front of his pants. I asked Mr. Chaudhry if he had anything to drink tonight and he stated that he had been drinking. I asked Mr. Chaudhry if he wanted to participate in a field sobriety test and he agreed.
Officer Brown performed a field sobriety test on Mr. Chaudhry. Prior to attempting this test, Mr. Javaid Chaudhry indicated he did not have any medical problems that would have prevented him from performing the test. Officer Brown advised that Mr. Chaudhry was under the influence.
I read Mr. Javaid Chaudhry implied consent for ages 21 and over. Mr. Chaudhry was then handcuffed with his hands placed behind his back, double locked and checked for proper fit. I searched Mr. Javaid Chaudhry incident to arrest, and no contraband was found. Mr. Chaudhry was placed in the back of my issued marked patrol car that was checked before and after each transport and no contraband was found.
Mr. Chaudhry was transported to the Cartersville Police Department. While pulling Mr. Chaudhry out of the back of my issued patrol car Officer Davis noticed an unopened white bag on the floor of my issued patrol car that said Shrooms and had a picture of mushrooms on it. When asked about the bag Mr. Chaudhry said it was his medicine. Inside the bag was a green leafy susbstance what was found to be 3 grams suspected marijuana.
A search warrant was conducted for Mr. Chaudhry’s blood. Mr. Chaudhry was then taken to Cartersville Piedmont Medica Center and a successful blood draw was conducted by the ER nurse.
Mr. Chaudhry was then taken to the Bartow County Sheriffs Office and released to Bartow County Deputies for housing. A warrant was obtained for Mr. Chaudhry for DUI (CE-0181085). The GBI blood kit was taken to Cartersville PD and placed into a secured evidence locker to be sent to GBI for further testing. The Marijuana was placed into evidence for destruction.
An administrative search was conducted on Mr. Chaudhry’s silver in color, 2003 Mercedes C320 (GA-[REDACTED]) due to it being towed by Wayne Martins Towing. (Attached to the case report)
