On November 24th, 2025, at 2256 hours, I was dispatched to [20 BLOCK] Stiles Ct, Cartersville, Georgia 30120, in reference to a male with a knife, actively trying to get into the caller’s bedroom. Dispatch advised the caller was [VICTIM #1], and the male with the knife was Jaylen Heard. [VICTIM #1] was Jaylen’s stepfather.

Upon arrival, as I entered the house, Jaylen came down the stairs from the second floor, wielding a knife in his hands. I drew my firearm and pointed it at Jaylen, while giving him loud verbal commands to drop the knife. Jaylen put the knife down on the ledge of the stairs and backed away from it. Jaylen was placed in handcuffs and escorted to the rear seat of my patrol car.

I spoke with [VICTIM #1] about that he was coming home from work tonight, and noticed Jaylen was intoxicated. [VICTIM #1] stated that he and Jaylen were in a verbal argument. Jaylen became irritated with [VICTIM #1], and he retreated to his room. [VICTIM #1] stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] another stepson, came into his room and stated that Jaylen had a knife in his hands. [VICTIM #1] stated he locked his bedroom door with him and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Jaylen then came to the door and was banging on the door with the handle of the knife. [VICTIM #1] stated that Jaylen told him he was going to get his friends and blow his head off.

[VICTIM #1] stated he was in fear of receiving injury from Jaylen as he was wielding the knife, banging on the door that he and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] occupied.

I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who stated the same events as [VICTIM #1]; however, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] did not hear Jaylen state he was going to get his friends and blow [VICTIM #1]’s head off. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he heard Jaylen state he was going to take a machete and cut [VICTIM #1]’s head off.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated he was in fear of receiving injury from Jaylen as he was wielding the knife, banging on the bedroom door that he and [VICTIM #1] occupied.

Jaylen was placed under arrest and transported to Bartow Jail. Upon arrival, Jaylen was diverted by medical staff for clearance. Jaylen was then transported to Cartersville Medical Center and was shortly cleared after. Jaylen was then transported back to Bartow Jail and turned over to jail staff without incident. I secured warrants for Jaylen for Aggravated Assault (x2)(FVA).
