On Thursday August 18, 2022 at approximately 05:49 hours I was dispatched to the Texaco located at 216 South Tennessee Street in reference to a woman sleeping in the driver seat of her vehicle.
Upon my arrival at approximately 05:58 I met with the woman, who was identified as Jessica Marshall, in the driver seat of a red 2014 Hyundai Sante Fe bearing GA license plate. Ms. Marshall appeared to be very disoriented and nervous. I asked Ms. Marshall if she had been drinking or taking any type of medications and she said that she had not.
Due to Ms. Marshall’s behavior, I asked Ms. Marshall if I could have consent to search her vehicle and its contents and she consented to the search. Ms. Marshall stepped out of the vehicle.
I proceeded to search the vehicle and its contents. A search of Ms. Marshall’s vehicle yielded a small clear bag with a white crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine inside of a sunglasses case. A silver gum wrapper was located in the console with more white crystal like substance inside of it. Ms. Marshall was placed into handcuffs to the rear. The handcuffs were checked for fit and double locked. Ms. Marshall was searched incident to arrest with no contraband located.
I then read Ms. Marshall her Miranda Rights and she stated that she did not wish to talk to officers.
Ms. Marshall was transported to the Bartow County Jail without incident. My issued marked vehicle was checked at the start of shift, before and after each transport, with no contraband located.
The suspected methamphetamine was photo graphed. The photos were attached to the case file. The suspected methamphetamine was weighed, with an approximate weight of 2.5 grams. A GBI Evidence Submission form was completed and placed into evidence with the methamphetamine.
A warrant was obtained for Ms. Marshall for possession of methamphetamine.
