On Saturday, 09/20/2025, at approximately 2052 hours I was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Pleasant Valley rd lot [REDACTED] Adairsville, GA in reference to a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival I located [VICTIM #1] walking into her residence crying. While speaking with [VICTIM #1] whom advised me that her ex-boyfriend/ predominate aggressor/ Joey Mathison had showed up and wouldn’t leave her residence. [VICTIM #1] was able to get inside the house and lock the door, however Joey became irate and forced the front door open and came inside the residence screaming at [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] begged Joey to leave the residence which seem to make him more irate. Joey threw a glass in the kitchen causing it to break, and punched holes in the hallway and living room walls.

[VICTIM #1] stood up off the couch to try and get away from Joey and he pushed her into the wall and started strangling her. Joey threw [VICTIM #1] to the ground and continued strangling her until she went unconscious and he started dragging her down the hallway. Joey became startled when [REDACTED] started talking from the phone speaker of [VICTIM #1]’s phone because he wasn’t aware anyone else knew what had occurred. [VICTIM #1] regained consciousness during this time and Joey gathered himself and left the residence.

I observed bruising and red marks on [VICTIM #1]’s neck which along with scratches and marks on her arms. I took photos of the physical injuries [VICTIM #1] received and the property that was damaged during the altercation.

I secured warrants for Joey’s arrested based on the evidence present during the time of this report for aggravated assault strangulation FVA, burglary FVA, and criminal trespass (damage to property) FVA. Joey was not taken into custody at the time of the report because he fled the scene prior to my arrival.
