On Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at approximately 0420 hours, I responded to [100 BLOCK] Barnsley Church Road, Kingston Ga, 30145 in reference to a warrant service. I had a copy of an active arrest warrant for a Mr. John Adams (DOВ [REDACTED]). The warrant was for felony- Robbery by Sudden Snatching (warrant #CE-0177103).
Upon arrival, Deputies arrived in marked patrol vehicles and announced themselves as they knocked on the front door. Within the residence, a loud yelling was heard within. Deputies could hear a male yelling for Deputies to leave.
I returned to my patrol vehicle and turned on the steady blue lights to further identify as law enforcement. The male continued to yell. The address on the warrant was for [100 BLOCK] Barnsley Church Road, known to be the residence of Mr. Adams. Per the victim in the case of the active warrants, Mr. Adams is known to have a .22 rifle and a shotgun.
I obtained my patrol issued rifle due to the yelling and knowledge of Mr. Adams having firearms. I used my patrol vehicle loud speaker to announce ourselves as law enforcement.
Immediately after the announcement, Mr. Adams exited the front door with a dark long barrel gun. Mr. Adams made unintelligible statements and waved the gun around in the air while Deputy Mazariegos and I were in the front yard/driveway area. Mr. Adams had the gun pointed up and outwards in the direction of the front yard.
Mr. Adams retreated back into the residence after a few seconds of presenting the gun. I made the announcement to other deputies that Mr. Adams was armed. Mr. Adams attempted to open the back door with other deputes at the rear, he then slammed the door shut after their announcement.
After a few minutes, Mr. Adams opened a small window at the right hand side of the residence. Deputies tried to reason with Mr. Adams, he began yelling with frustration asking about the warrant. Mr. Adams was informed that deputies could not leave with the active warrant in hand, he began cursing the victim in the case and continued to refuse to comply. During the conversation with Mr. Adams, he informed deputies that he had a female with him. Mr. Adams also made the demand to speak with Major Prentice about the case.
It appeared that Mr. Adams was under the influence of a stimulant drug and was in a manic state. Deputies became concerned for the weltering of the female within the residence and made the attempt via loud speaker to have the female exit, Mr. Adams ignored the requests.
Major Prentice arrived and was able to convince Mr. Adams to exit where he was taken into custody at the rear door of the residence. Deputies checked the residence for any additional occupants. After a safety sweep, no female or other occupants were located in the residence.
Mr. Adams stated the weapons in the incident were inoperable and stated they were located in the bedroom closet. The weapons (20 gauge shotgun and damaged .22 rifle) were recovered and placed into Bartow Sheriffs Office evidence.
Mr. Adams was transported to the Bartow County Jail without incident.
Warrants were obtained for 2 counts of felony-obstruction and 2 counts of felony-aggravated assault on law enforcement.
A use of force form was completed.
[End of Narrative]
