On 01/27/2026 I, Deputy Puckett, responded to [20 BLOCK] Saddle Field Cir in reference to a physical domestic altercation possibly involving firearms and threats of self harm. (Caller/Victim) [VICTIM #1] advised the call taker that (suspect) John Clements was physical with her before retrieving a shotgun and threatening to harm himself. [VICTIM #1] advised the call taker John was last observed going into the basement area where he lives separately from [VICTIM #1].

When I arrived on scene, and after verifying the parties were still separated, I asked Bartow County E-911 to contact [VICTIM #1] via phone and ask her to come outside. Once [VICTIM #1] was outside of the residence, I verified that John was inside the residence alone to the best of her knowledge. Once I learned of John’s being in the residence alone, I escorted [VICTIM #1] further away from the residence and to my patrol vehicle to await the arrival of other units.

Once it was determined there were criminal charges involved in the incident, a perimeter was set around the residence and attempts were made to call John out of the residence via patrol vehicle PA. John did not respond to the call outs and no movement was observed in or around the residence.

[VICTIM #1], while safely in my patrol vehicle and away from the residence, began to recount the events of the incident.

[VICTIM #1] advised John seemed to be in a “bad mood” since he woke up around 1500. [VICTIM #1] advised the two of them verbally “bickered” at one another throughout the day. [VICTIM #1] advised John began gathering some of her things from around the residence. When [VICTIM #1] asked John why he was gathering her things, he told her “when we sell this house, you’re not getting sh*t”. [VICTIM #1] advised she did make an attempt to retrieve her items that had been collected by John. This attempt resulted in [VICTIM #1]’s being behind John, in a “bear hug” like position due to John’s leaning forward to prevent [VICTIM #1]’s being able to retrieve the items. Following [VICTIM #1]’s attempt, she retreated up stairs to the bedroom where she lives separately from John.

Once inside of her bedroom, [VICTIM #1] closed and locked her bedroom door in an effort to separate from John and to take a shower. John forced the bedroom door open by either using his shoulder or kicking it open. This forced entry resulted in the door and frame being rendered completely useless and damaged. Following his forcing entry into the bedroom, John went back into the living room area downstairs and began removing photographs from the living room walls, [VICTIM #1] observed this via camera. [VICTIM #1] advised John he could not have the photos before retreating back into the bathroom attached to her bedroom.

[VICTIM #1] advised John re-entered her bedroom and the two of them began shoving the bathroom door back and forth as John was attempting to gain entry into the bathroom as well. John began demanding that [VICTIM #1] provide him with his hair clippers, which were in the bathroom with her. [VICTIM #1] opened the bathroom door briefly and threw the bag containing the clippers out so John could obtain them.

When John did not catch the bag, the guards for the clippers and other items from within the bag, spilled to the floor. [VICTIM #1] advised John knelt to retrieve the items and began collecting some of her belongings as well. When [VICTIM #1] confronted John about his grabbing her belongings as well, the situation turned physical. John shoved [VICTIM #1] backward into the dresser in her bedroom before striking her in the upper chest with a closed fist. [VICTIM #1] made an effort to disengage again, by leaving the bedroom. However, John followed her into the hallway. Once in the hallway, [VICTIM #1] made John aware of her calling 911. John responded by grabbing her by the back of the neck and forcing her over the railing on the second story hallway/staircase area.

[VICTIM #1] advised the majority of her upper body was over the railing while she was being held there. [VICTIM #1] advised she was making efforts to get out of John’s control and away from the railing. However, John was preventing her from doing so. When [VICTIM #1] was finally able to escape from John, she retreated to the same bathroom she was previously in and locked the door. At this time, John went downstairs and retrieved and shotgun (Mossberg 500 12 gauge, black in color) before returning to [VICTIM #1]’s bedroom. John kicked the bathroom door, which resulted in a large hole in the door. John leaned down to look through the hole he created and told [VICTIM #1] she was going to watch him kill himself. John returned downstairs. [VICTIM #1] did advise she knew of a shotgun and handgun being in the basement area where John stays.

While speaking with [VICTIM #1] at my patrol vehicle, she advised of the presence of cameras in and around the residence. [VICTIM #1] advised the cameras do not cover the entirety of the home. [VICTIM #1] checked the history on her camera near the back door of the residence and observed John leaving the residence, via the back door, approximately (7) minutes prior to my arrival on scene. It was around this same time that Law Enforcement on scene learned of a camper located through the wooded area behind the residence. We were advised John was possibly inside of the camper.

Several Deputies made entry into the residence in an effort to ensure John was not inside and verify he had left. While clearing the residence, several things were observed in plain view.

  • Mossberg 12 Gauge shotgun, located in upstairs room across from [VICTIM #1]’s bedroom. This verified [VICTIM #1]’s claims of the gun being possessed by John during the incident. The Shotgun was seized and placed into evidence.
  • Sig Sauer P325 M17 9mm pistol, located on the night stand in John’s bedroom. The Pistol was seized and placed into evidence.
  • Glass smoking device containing burnt residue which is suspected Methamphetamine. The smoking device was photographed and entered into evidence for destruction.
  • Bag containing a crystal like substance which is suspected of being Methamphetamine. The substance was seized and entered into evidence. A GBI submission form was also completed and submitted for testing.
  • Damage to both doors was photographed and documented.
  • The clippers, guards, and bag were observed to be strewn about the residence. The items were photographed and documented

The camper was determined to be on the property at [200 BLOCK] Cassville-White Rd. The property, and camper, belong to [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] provided units on scene permission to enter the property and camper. John was located inside of the camper and was taken into custody without further incident. Once in custody, John was transported to the Bartow County Jail by Deputy J. Gillie where he was turned over to jail staff.

Arrest Warrants for John were secured for the following charges.

Following John’s arrest, [VICTIM #1] advised me that John’s brother, (other) [REDACTED], had learned of the incident and was threatening her via text. [VICTIM #1] allowed me to read the messages. However, no threats per Georgia law were observed. I advised [VICTIM #1] of the TPO procedure in regards to [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #1] was provided a case card with the report information.
