On November 19th, 2025 around 1340 hours I was asked by Inv. Dollar to respond to 650 Joe Frank Harris Pkwy Se Cartersville, Ga 30120 (Highland Rivers) in reference to a wanted person. Inv. Dollar had information that Kayla Kelly was at this location and currently wanted for Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault, Burglary and Hindering the Apprehension of a Criminal. Investigator Dollar was also told Kayla was in a gold Acura SUV with a silver door and knew we were en route. I knew Kayla to be a black female from her drivers license photo.

Sgt. Gillman and I arrived in the parking lot and located the Gold Acura SUV. I could see a black female sitting in the passenger seat of the Acura so I positioned my patrol car behind the Acura to prevent Kayla from fleeing. As I exited my patrol car I observed Kayla get out of the passenger seat and began to walk toward the building. I gave her two lawful orders to “come here” as she walked away from me and into the building. Kayla opened the door, made a statement to someone and turned around toward me. I told her to stop, turn around and put her hands behind her back. She immediately told me to stop and actively resisted arrest by tensing up and pulling away from me. I told her many times to stop and that she was under arrest.

At this time Sgt. Gillman and I brought Kayla to the ground to effect the arrest. Kayla laid on top of her hands in an attempt to resist arrest. After a short struggle on the ground Kayla was taken into custody. Once in custody Kayla was placed in the rear of my patrol car and seat belted in. While in the car she kicked the inside of the door many times, in an attempt to escape.

Kayla was transported and booked into the Bartow County Jail for her outstanding warrants listed above along with being charged with Obstruction (M). Kayla was turned over to Jail staff.

The rear prisoner area of my patrol car was searched and no contraband found.

An Arrest warrant was secured.
