On Monday, March 23rd 2016, at 1649 hours, I was dispatched to Cartersville Medical Center, room 225, regarding a theft.

I made contact with the victim, Mr. [VICTIM #1] and he stated that a man only known to him as “Randy” stole a box that contained some of his personal belongings. The box contained his wallet, with his driver’s license, Social Security income debit card, and his Social Security card. The box also contained 5 pill bottles with 3-1/2 pills per bottle of Methadone.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] advised that the theft occurred on Friday, March 20th, 2026, around 1000 hours, while he was staying at his daughter’s residence at [1500 BLOCK] Cassville Rd. Mr. [VICTIM #1] said that Randy had also been staying there a few days before the theft and on the day of the theft. He observed Randy pick the box up the box that contained his property and walk out. Mr. [VICTIM #1] said that he tried to say something to him as he exited the residence, but he kept walking. Mr. [VICTIM #1] said that no one else was at the residence when the theft occurred, and he only knew the first name of the suspect. However, his daughter may know his full name and other identifying information. I advised him to try to gather any and all identifying information for the suspect and contact the Sheriff’s office to follow up on the report.

[VICTIM #1] said that his debit card had $162 left on it when it was stolen. Following the theft, Mr. [VICTIM #1] was able to check his account and see that the $162 was taken from the account by use of an ATM located at the Red Barn Grocery (1348 Cassville Rd) on the same day it was stolen. The time that the debit card was used is not known at this time.

I provided Mr. [VICTIM #1] a business card with the report number printed on it. I also advised him that I would be completing a report. Mr. [VICTIM #1] did say that he had already called the Social Security Administration, advising them of the theft, and he had already reimbursed the money that was stolen.
