On 06/25/2026 at 1902 hours, I was dispatched to [30 BLOCK] Maddox Road, Acworth, GA 30102 in reference to an assault report.
Upon arrival, I met with [VICTIM #1] and his daughter, [WITNESS #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that this incident started as road rage in Cherokee County on Kellogg Creek Road. [VICTIM #1] stated that he turned onto New Hope Church Road with the suspect vehicle behind him. He stated that once he reached the stop sign in the roadway in front of the Church on New Hope Church Road, the suspect vehicle drove at a high rate of speed, passed [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle, stopped in front of [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle, got out, and began charging at [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that there was nowhere to drive in order to try to avoid the suspect. [VICTIM #1] stated that the suspect came to his driver’s side window and grabbed [VICTIM #1]’s neck with his hand in a choking manner. [VICTIM #1] stated that he could feel the suspect’s hand underneath his left jaw, really trying to get to his throat. [VICTIM #1] said that his throat still hurts from the incident.
There was swelling and redness on [VICTIM #1]’s neck in the area where he described being choked. [VICTIM #1] stated that during this, he grabbed the man’s hand and pulled his fingers back so far that the top of the suspect’s fingers touched the top of the suspect’s forearm. [VICTIM #1] told me that the man had to have broken a couple of his fingers from [VICTIM #1]’s self-defense. [VICTIM #1] did not wish to be seen by an ambulance when asked. This incident occurred at approximately 1726 hours. The suspect was described to be a white male in his late 50’s to early 60’s, bald, with a white goatee, and was wearing a white shirt with khaki pants. No other information was able to be given.
[WITNESS #1] was driving behind [VICTIM #1] when this occurred, and she stated that she witnessed all of this take place and heard the man say, “I’m gonna fu*k you up” to [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that the suspect kept repeating phrases similar to this, such as “I’m going to beat your a*s”. [VICTIM #1] stated the suspect spat on him as well and let me know that there are fingerprints and saliva from the suspect left on his vehicle from the incident. I did visually observe the saliva and fingerprints left over from the incident. I had dispatch patch me through to the on-call investigator, Investigator Shirley, and briefed him on the situation, and he stated that he was en-route. Upon Investigator Shirley’s arrival, he had a kit to collect the fingerprints and saliva. Investigator Shirley collected the fingerprints and saliva, and both will be sent to the crime lab with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
[VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] described the suspect vehicle as a white Dodge Caravan with the disability kit. [WITNESS #1] stated that she saw some blue coloring on the license plate and stated that it started with a W. I looked on Flock for vehicles matching that description from 1700 hours to 1730, around the time the incident occurred, and the suspect vehicle (GA REG# [REDACTED]) was shown at New Hope Church Road SE and Jacobs Road SE at 1728 hours in the direction of New Hope Church Road at Allatoona Gateway, which was 2 minutes after the incident occurred. No other vehicles match that description that was on that intersection at that time. Also, [VICTIM #1] stated that the suspect vehicle passed him after the incident, heading toward New Hope Church Road at Allatoona Gateway. This would lead a reasonable person to believe that this was the vehicle involved in the crime.
Photos of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries of his neck were taken on my body-worn camera, and photos of the evidence of saliva and fingerprints before Investigator Shirley collected them into evidence.
This case will be left active due to not being able to positively identify the suspect.
