On May 12th, 2026, at approximately 17:02 hours, I responded to [REDACTED], Cartersville, GA, in reference to a domestic dispute in progress.

Dispatch advised the complainant/victim, [VICTIM #1], called, stating that Nyles Knight was making threats to come burn the house up. [VICTIM #1] and her two children were inside the residence and locked themselves in the residence. [VICTIM #1] advised dispatch that Nyles was currently at lot [REDACTED] with her brother.

I arrived on scene and met with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that last night, Nyles got up in the middle of the night and went over to her brother’s house and did not grab his belongings. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was supposed to cut her brother’s, [WITNESS #1]’s, hair at some point this date, so she called him. When she called him, [WITNESS #1] had her on speaker phone, and Nyles was in the background. [VICTIM #1] stated that they began arguing over the phone and he stated he wanted to come get his things. [VICTIM #1] stated that she did not feel comfortable with his demeanor and stated she would put his stuff on the porch for him to get. [VICTIM #1] stated that Nyles told her on the phone that if he could not get his belongings, he would come burn the house down. [VICTIM #1] stated that she had the phone call on speaker phone, and her eldest daughter, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also heard this. Her youngest daughter [REDACTED BY AGENCY] who is shared between her and Nyles, was also present in the home when Nyles made this statement.

[VICTIM #1] told me that Nyles’s wallet was on the desk beside us and I was able to obtain a proper identification for him. Nyles Knight was actually identified as Nyles Jeffrey Earl (OLN:[REDACTED BY AGENCY]).

Due to all parties residing in the same household and [VICTIM #1] sharing a child with Nyles, I determined I would have probable cause to take Nyles into custody for Terroristic Threats-Felony. [VICTIM #1] also advised me that Nyles would have active warrants from a domestic that occurred a couple of weeks ago. She provided a description of a hunter green shirt and blue jeans for Nyles and that he would be at Lot [REDACTED].

Myself, Sgt. R. Wilson #943, and D/S I. Plante #958 made contact at Lot [REDACTED], where Nyles was standing outside with [WITNESS #1]. Sgt. R. Wilson made contact with Nyles and detained him in handcuffs behind his back. Sgt. Wilson asked him if his name was Nyles Knight, and he denied his last name being Knight and advised that it was Earl. [WITNESS #1] spoke up and told Nyles to quit lying and advised us that Nyles goes by Knight, and that is all they have ever known him to go by.

I spoke with [WITNESS #1] while Sgt. Wilson confirmed Nyles’s identity. [WITNESS #1] stated that they had both been drinking this date, and Nyles and [VICTIM #1] were arguing over the phone. [WITNESS #1] confirmed that Nyles stated that if he didn’t get his belongings, he would “burn that motherfu*ker down”.

Sgt. Wilson confirmed that “Knight” used to be Nyles’s legal name by a family member, but has since been legally changed to Earl.

Nyles was taken into custody for Terroristic Threats-Felony FVA. Nyles’s other warrants for Battery and Cruelty to Children 3rd Degree (x2) will be recalled and re-issued with Nyles’s legal name. Sgt. Wilson transported Nyles to the Bartow County Adult Detention Center without incident.

I secured warrants for Terroristic Threats-Felony FVA (x3).

This case will be cleared by arrest.
