On Sunday August 31, 2025 at 2130 hours I was dispatched to [10 BLOCK] B Grandview Court in reference to a physical domestic.
While en route I was informed by Dispatch the two of the subjects involved had left in and possibly heading towards Rome Ga.
Upon arrival I observed a female laying on her couch with an obvious injury to her right leg. it was bleeding, and she was breathing heavy. She stated she had been ran over by her fiance’s father during an argument.
I identified the female as [VICTIM #1]. She stated her left leg was hurting as well. I observed some road rash on her left leg.
[VICTIM #1] told me her fiance’s ([VICTIM #2]) parents came over without being invited, and wanted to talk to him. [VICTIM #1] told them to leave. She said his father Rod walked out of the residence, but she had to physically remove his mother, Patricia Redden, by pushing her out.
Once she pushed Patricia out of the residence, [VICTIM #2]’s father came up to her and she slapped him to get him out of her face, and he struck her in the nose. She then closed the door.
[VICTIM #1] stated while this was going on [VICTIM #2] was in their bedroom sleeping. [VICTIM #2] woke up and came into the living room where this took place. She told [VICTIM #2] everything that happened, and then saw Rod, [VICTIM #2]s father going through [VICTIM #2]s truck.
She went outside to stop him from taking the vehicle, and [VICTIM #2] followed her out there. She told Rod this was her only way to and from work and he could not take it. Rod took off in the truck, and in the process he ran [VICTIM #1] over with the truck. When he ran over her he ran over both legs.
[VICTIM #1] stated she recorded the whole incident with the phone in her hand. I watched her video, and you could see [VICTIM #1] having to push Patricia out of the residence, and then when she confronted Rod who was in [VICTIM #2]s truck. I observed [VICTIM #1]’s camera facing towards the sky and she picked it up. She was on the ground, and both legs looked injured. I could also her [VICTIM #2] Yelling. “You ran her over”.
After he left in the truck [VICTIM #2] got her inside, and their friend, [REDACTED] called 911.
After they called 911, Rod returned the truck. He and Patricia left for their home in Rome Georgia.
I spoke with [VICTIM #2], and he said he was sleeping through most of the incident, but saw Ron run over [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #2] stated the truck is his, and Rod did not have his permission to take it. I confirmed by running the license plate the truck did belong to [VICTIM #2].
I sent [VICTIM #1] a message from our new world system so she could send the Sheriff’s Office the video’s of the incident. She wished to press charges.
EMS arrived on scene. Due to [VICTIM #1]’s injury’s she was transported to Piedmont Medical Center in Cartersville.
Dispatch gave the call information to Floyd County, and I informed our dispatch I did have charges on both subjects.
Floyd Police Department went out to [SIGLE DIGIT BLOCK] Rosemont Drive and located both Rod and Patricia Redden, and placed them in custody. I met with them at the county line. Rod was transported by me to the Bartow County Jail, and Patricia was transported by Deputy Simmer to the Bartow County Jail.
Once Arriving at the Jail Rod was deferred to the hospital due to his Blood Pressure being high. While at the hospital I visited [VICTIM #1] to check on her and her left leg had been broken due to being ran over by the vehicle.
After Ron was treated at the Hospital he was transported by Deputy Brown to the Bartow County Jail.
Patricia is charged with Criminal trespass after receiving multiple commands to leave the residence, and having to be forced out in order for her to leave.
Rod is being charged with Theft by taking motor vehicle FVA, Aggravated battery due to his actions breaking [VICTIM #1]’s leg, aggravated assault for striking [VICTIM #1] with the vehicle, and simple battery for striking [VICTIM #1] in the nose
Pictures were taken of [VICTIM #1]’s injury’s.
There was no damage to [VICTIM #2]s truck during the altercation.
