On Monday, 03/17/2025, at approximately 2142 hours I was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Station Way Adairsville, GA in reference to A domestic dispute.
Upon my arrival I spoke with [VICTIM #1] whom advised she had been involved in a domestic dispute between the hours of 1800 and 1900 at [300 BLOCK] Salacao Rd Rydal, GA involving Thomas Baldwin and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #1] stated that Thomas had been drinking heavily all day and started becoming agitated for no apparent reason and despite her efforts to calm him, his temper flared and he grabbed her and threw her onto the bed. Thomas climbed on top of [VICTIM #1] and placed both of his hands around her throat attempting to strangle her. [VICTIM #1] tried to fight Thomas off during the assault which resulted in her getting hit in the face causing a busted lip. [VICTIM #1] said she felt as if she was going to loss consciousness and in a last ditch effort get away pleaded with Thomas not to do this in front of their son. Thomas seemed to be distracted and got up and walked out of the room as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] went over to [VICTIM #1] trying to help her.
[VICTIM #1] devised a plan of escape using several different family members for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and herself and found her way to [WITNESS #1]’s House. [WITNESS #1] gave a statement that she overheard Thomas telling people that if he found [VICTIM #1] that he would kill her and anyone else that was with her.
I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the presence of [VICTIM #1] and he made the statement that he witnessed Thomas grab [VICTIM #1] by the throat with both hands and that it appeared [VICTIM #1] was having trouble breathing.
Based on the physical and testimonial evidence I secured warrants for Aggravated Assault by Strangulation FVA and Cruelty to Children in the 3rd FVA. After receiving information on Thomas’s location I relocated [40 BLOCK] Indian Hills Dr Rydal, GA were I arrested Thomas and transported him to the Bartow County Jail for processing without incident.
