On Sunday, June 14th, 2026, at approximately 0207 hours, I was dispatched to the area of Old Mill Road and Etowah Drive in reference to a male subject asleep in his vehicle at the intersection.
While en route, Bartow Dispatch advised the male had been approached by Metro EMS and had woken up and begun driving once more. The male subject was traveling west on Old Mill Road and made a right turn onto Henderson Drive, where he would stop at 695 Henderson Drive (Rock Fitness).
Upon arrival, a male subject, William Crowder, was seen exiting the vehicle by Bartow County Sheriff’s Deputy A. Williams. Deputy Williams advised me he saw Mr. Crowder make the turn onto Henderson and exit the vehicle as we arrived. I made contact with Mr. Crowder and asked if he was aware of why we had been called, to which he stated he had no idea. Mr. Crowder was asked where he was coming from, and he stated from The Local (Bar). Mr. Crowder was asked, while at the establishment, if he had consumed alcohol, to which he replied yes. While speaking with Mr. Crowder, the odor of alcohol was detected coming from his person. Mr. Crowder was asked if he would submit to Standardized Field Sobriety Evaluations by Officer T.J. Brock, but he never gave a direct answer, as he would respond with “I’m not sure what I should do”. Mr. Crowder was asked once more if he was going to perform the evaluations and provided the same response.
Mr. Crowder was placed under arrest with handcuffs behind the back, double locked, and checked for proper fit. Mr. Crowder was searched incident to arrest, yielding no contraband. Mr. Crowder was placed in the rear seat of my patrol vehicle, where it was searched before shift and before and after each transport, yielding no contraband. Mr. Crowder was read Implied Consent and would consent to a blood draw. The consent was audio and visually recorded on my BWC.
I spoke with witness of Metro EMS, who stated that a patient was being transported, and on the way back through the intersection, the vehicle was still there. Witness stated she approached the vehicle and asked Mr. Crowder if he was ok. Witness stated Mr. Crowder woke up and she asked him where he was, to which he replied, Panama City Beach, and began to drive.
Mr. Crowder was transported at this time to Cartersville Piedmont Hospital, where the blood draw was performed successfully. Mr. Crowder was then transported to the Bartow County Adult Detention Center, where he was released to jail staff. The GBI Blood Kit was submitted to the Cartersville Police Department Evidence Division with the GBI submission form.
A warrant was obtained for DUI: Less safe, and attached to the report.
Other arrived on scene and took control of the vehicle.
