On Monday, 7/[13]/2026, at approximately 1535 hours, I was dispatched to [REDACTED], in reference to a domestic dispute.

While en route, dispatch advised that the calltaker could hear the subjects in a physical altercation. I arrived on scene, and while en route to the apartment, dispatch advised that the caller could hear someone banging on the door. I advised dispatch that I had not yet arrived at the residence and to instruct the caller not to open the door.

While approaching the breezeway where the apartment was located, I observed a black male (later identified as Xzavier Christian) banging on a door. I gave verbal commands for Xzavier to come here, at which time he began to flee on foot. I pursued Xzavier through the breezeway, out the side door, and through the parking lot until he came in contact with Deputy H. Miller, who held him at taser point.

While approaching, I could hear Deputy Miller giving verbal commands to get down onto his stomach. Xzavier went to his knees, but did not comply with Deputy Miller’s commands to lie flat on his stomach. I then tackled Xzavier to the ground and proceeded to hold him in a rear mount while he was placed in handcuffs to the rear, which were checked for fit and double locked. We then picked Xzavier up and sat him on the curb. Xzavier stated that he ran because he was trying to get to his backpack, which was in proximity to him when he was taken into custody. Xzavier stated that he had a firearm in his bag and that he was hoping we would shoot him. I then secured Xzavier in the back of Deputy Miller’s patrol vehicle and located the firearm in the backpack. The firearm was a Smith & Wesson Body Guard .380 with 7 rounds, one of which was chambered. I cleared the firearm and secured it.

Shortly after, Metro EMS arrived on scene. Xzavier refused treatment.

I then made contact with the victim, [VICTIM #1], who stated that she had been in an argument with Xzavier about taking off from work to go skateboarding. She advised that he became irate and witnessed him drinking in the parking lot shortly after the argument. Once Xzavier came back to the residence, [VICTIM #1] confronted him about drinking alcohol. Xzavier became irate and began striking her in the presence of their juvenile daughter [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I observed physical injuries on her neck and arm corroborating this.

I then asked [VICTIM #1] if she had any injuries that I could not see. [VICTIM #1] advised that she had marks all over her body from the altercation. I then contacted Corporal K. Ashworth and advised her of the situation. Corporal Ashworth later arrived on scene and captured photographic evidence of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries. [VICTIM #1]’s injuries consisted of a swollen knot on the left side of her head, busted capillaries on her cheek and neck, bruising to her arm with busted capillaries, and bruising with busted capillaries on her side, back, and rear end. [VICTIM #1] refused transport to the hospital by Metro EMS, and advised that she would have her mother take her at a later time. [VICTIM #1] stated that she believed she may have a concussion.

[VICTIM #1] was given a pamphlet bearing the case number for this incident and advised of services regarding domestic violence. The firearm was logged into the evidence room at a later time as personal property.

Xzavier was moved to my patrol vehicle and transported to the Bartow County Jail, where he was turned over to Jail staff without incident.

Warrants for 2 counts of obstructing a law enforcement officer (misdemeanor), Battery (FVA), and Cruelty to children (3rd degree) were obtained and turned in to the warrants division with victim information sheets.
