On the report date, I, Deputy P.F. Smith responded to the GA Sports Hall of Fame on a disorderly person call.

The complainant stated that there was a black male, with dreads at the front door area of the GA Sports Hall of Fame. This subject was yelling and cursing and refusing to the leave the area. This was the second call this agency had received on this person since 1400 hrs.

This Deputy arrived on the scene and found the male subject lying on the sidewalk next to the building near Fifth Street. This Deputy woke the person up and advised him that he needed to leave the area. The subject, identified as King, Anthony (B/M DOB [REDACTED BY AGENCY]) began to walk away towards the opposite corner of Cherry St and Fifth Street near the Tubman Museum. As King walked a good distance from this Deputy, he began yelling obscenities, cursing and causing the attention of several people visiting the area. There were also children with their parents within earshot of King as he made a scene of himself while standing in the middle of Cherry Street and as he walked over to the park bench.

At that time, this Deputy made an additional contact with King, and he was placed under arrest. Checking King through GCIC indicated that he has an active warrant for Failure to Appear out of Dougherty County, WNO 25SR859, DOW 01/29/2026. This Deputy requested for dispatch to confirm the warrant.

King was transported to the LEC and booked in.

ACCUSATION FILED — ANTHONY GENE KING CHARGED WITH DISORDERLY CONDUCT

What this means: On May 19, 2026, the Bibb County State Court formally charged Anthony Gene King with one count of Disorderly Conduct, a misdemeanor offense, under case number 26-SCCR-476551. The accusation — signed by Assistant Solicitor General Venita McCoy Ellis — alleges that on or about April 24, 2026, Anthony Gene King used obscene, vulgar, or profane words directed at a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputy, without provocation, and in the presence of children under the age of fourteen years old. The accusation states that these words were of a type that would incite a breach of the peace and provoke violent resentment under ordinary circumstances, in violation of O.C.G.A. 16-11-39. An accusation is a formal charging document filed by a prosecutor — it means the case is now officially before the court, and Anthony Gene King will be required to respond to the charge.
