On September 11, 2025, at approximately 1900 hours, I, Sgt. George Witherspoon, was at 180 Willie Smokie Glover Dr.(Carolyn Crayton Park), when I was approached by a staff member who advised me of a disturbance. The altercation reportedly began near the skate park area and continued into the parking lot adjacent to the Elaine Lucas Center.
While making my way toward the area of the disturbance, I was approached by [WITNESS #1] and her younger sister, juvenile victim [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (16 years old), who was visibly injured. [WITNESS #1] reported that Brittany Ballard (aka Brittany Foster) struck and fought [REDACTED BY AGENCY], causing scratches, scrapes, and small lacerations to her chest and fingers. [WITNESS #1] stated the assault on [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was an attempt by Ballard to provoke her into a physical confrontation.
[WITNESS #1] elaborated on the background of the situation, reporting that she and Brittany have had ongoing issues for approximately eight (8) years due to both women sharing children by [VICTIM #1], Brittany’s current husband. During that conversation, Brittany phoned [WITNESS #1] while in my presence and was overheard stating: “fight me now b*tch” and “I’m waiting… Don’t bring the Police.” Instead of going back and forth, [WITNESS #1] would simply disconnect the line.
Shortly thereafter, I was alerted that Brittany Ballard was standing on top of her vehicle and was actively fighting with her husband, [VICTIM #1], near the Elaine Lucas Center. After treating [REDACTED BY AGENCY]’s injury and instructing them to seek further care, I then redirected my attention toward the parking lot where the other two were engaged in a physical altercation.
During the course of the incident, witnesses further reported that Brittany Ballard had ignored and may have even flung one of her own children to the ground, before attempting to use her gray, 2017, Nissan Rogue, as a weapon against her husband, by intentionally driving the vehicle in his direction. That pursuit allegedly continued through a grassy area and up onto curb or sidewalk.
I located Brittany near her vehicle and noticed she somewhat short of breath, barefoot, and her clothes and hair were disheveled and it was clear she’d been in a physical altercation. [VICTIM #1] was no longer on scene and Brittany claims he took the keys to the vehicle with him. When asked why she was on top of the vehicle, she claimed it was an attempt to stop her husband from driving away and leaving her stranded. He was subsequently, reached by phone.
Upon eventually speaking with both, [VICTIM #1] and Brittany Ballard, Brittany stated that she came to the park because she suspected her husband of cheating with his other children’s mother, [WITNESS #1]. When she arrived and observed the pair seated inside [WITNESS #1]’s vehicle, her emotions got the better of her and she confronted him instead of leaving. By her own admission, Brittany said [VICTIM #1] attempted to keep the parties separated during his attempts to return [WITNESS #1]’s car keys. However, Brittany followed him in an effort to look for [WITNESS #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that, in an effort to defuse the situation, he tried to hand the keys to [WITNESS #1]’s younger sister, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. According to witnesses, Brittany then allegedly made the statement, “say I won’t slap her sister” repeatedly as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] approached. Brittany’s account of how the that altercation started differed from that, but this is when the first altercation occurred, resulting in [REDACTED BY AGENCY] being struck and sustaining her visible injuries.
[VICTIM #1] further advised that he attempted to remove Brittany from the area, but she then turned her aggression towards him. He confirmed Brittany had chased him with the vehicle, before he was able to gain control it. During that incident, Brittany physically assaulted him by biting him on the left shoulder. This bite caused bruising and distinct teeth impressions, which were photographed. This is what led to him taking the keys and leaving the scene.
Although he was reluctant to provide statements against his wife, [VICTIM #1]’s eventual account was consistent with those of [WITNESS #1], [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and independent witnesses. This entire disturbance occurred with numerous children and parents present, disrupting youth football practices and overall park operations.
Based on witness accounts, statements from involved parties, physical evidence, and visible injuries, Brittany Ballard (Foster) was taken into custody and transported to the Bib County LEC for detention and processing. The Intel unit was contacted to review cameras in the area for possible video evidence.
