On Thursday, 11/06/25 at 0955 hours, I (Sgt. Bruce) received a call to report to 1402 Gray Hwy. in reference to an assault.

I spoke with Ms. [VICTIM #1] (employee at Murphy’s Express), who stated that a black male wearing a camouflage-type hoodie and baggy clothes came into the store. The subject has been asked several times not to come into the store because he steals every time he comes in. Ms. [VICTIM #1] asked the male to leave, and he got upset and threatened to spit on her. The suspect spat on Ms. [VICTIM #1] and fled the area on foot.

I was able to view the camera footage, and did see the suspect spit on Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] went to get checked out by a doctor at Quick Med. East (1339 Gray Hwy) and stated that some of the spit got into her mouth. I am familiar with the suspect, but cannot determine his name at report time.
