On May 3, 2026, at approximately 19:14 hours I, Deputy M. Jones, was dispatched to [500 BLOCK] Poppy Ave. in Macon-Bibb County, Ga. The call was in reference to a person with a gun.
Dispatch advised that a vehicle accident resulted in a subject shooting the tire of a vehicle with a firearm.
Upon my arrival I made contact with David Edward Cousino. David explained to me that his vehicle (2025 Subaru Crosstrek tag: [REDACTED]) was struck by another vehicle while traveling south on Pio Nono Ave. near Montpelier Ave. He was able to maneuver his vehicle to get front of this vehicle (2014 Toyota Camry tag: [REDACTED]) to prevent it from leaving the scene.
David then explained that he exited his vehicle to make contact with the driver. The driver then hit David’s body with their vehicle. David admitted that he drew his firearm and fired a single round into the front driver side tire of the vehicle. The driver then left the scene. David got into his vehicle and followed the vehicle to [500 BLOCK] Poppy Ave.
I placed David under arrest by placing handcuffs on his wrists behind him. The handcuffs were double locked and checked for fit. I advised David of his Miranda Rights. He refused to speak without counsel. I placed David in the backseat of unit 70733. A firearm was recovered from David’s pants by assisting deputies during the handcuffing process. David did not complain of any injuries.
David’s wife, [REDACTED], occupied the front passenger seat during this incident.
I made contact with the two passengers of the Toyota Camry, [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #2] explained that she was the driver and turned right unto Pio Nono Ave. from Napier Ave. She stated that she saw the offender’s vehicle stopped next to another vehicle. She assumed that the drivers were having a conversation. [VICTIM #2] proceeded to drive left around the offender’s vehicle. Shortly after she was cut off by David.
[VICTIM #2] explained that David approached her window and struck it with his firearm. She then accused David of positioning himself in front of her vehicle and fired a round into her driver side tire. [VICTIM #2] admitted that she then accelerated and hit David with her vehicle in attempt to flee the scene. David then pointed his firearm at the windshield of the vehicle. [VICTIM #2] was able to accelerate and drive to [500 BLOCK] Poppy Ave.
[VICTIM #2]’s front passenger, [VICTIM #1], gave a testimony that was identical to [VICTIM #2]’s. Both subjects were seen by EMS at their request.
Shortly after, [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2], arrived on scene. These two subjects advised me that they witnessed the incident. [WITNESS #1] explained that David mistook the Toyota Camry as the vehicle he collided with. The actual vehicle was a black Honda sedan. [WITNESS #1] stated that David almost ran him off of the road while attempting to pursue [VICTIM #2]’s vehicle. [WITNESS #1] saw a Facebook post that a shooting occurred in the same area that he witnesses the vehicle accident-Pio Nono Ave. at Montpelier Ave. This prompted [WITNESS #1] to find law enforcement so he could give his statement.
I transported David Cousino to 111 Third St. and he was turned over to Crimes against Persons Investigator SGT. Munguia.
