On November 2, 2025 at approximately 0405hrs I, Cpl. J. Holmes was dispatched to [2100 BLOCK] Monroe Ave in reference to a person with a gun.

Upon my arrival, I met with [VICTIM #1] who stated that her ex, Deortis Johnson got into the residence and kept pointing a handgun at her. She then stated that he threw hot water on her which caused severe burns and blistering on her forearm.

When I went inside [VICTIM #1]’s room to make contact with Johnson, he was lethargic and didn’t respond to anything I was saying to him. He appeared to be highly intoxicated on drugs or alcohol at the time. While taking him into custody, Johnson actively resisted and crawled into the next room where I was able to restrain and place handcuffs on him. After properly restraining Johnson, I secured him in my patrol vehicle and finished interviewing [VICTIM #1].

[VICTIM #1] led me into her room and showed me the wood board over her window because of the several unauthorized attempts to enter her room that resulted in broken window glass. As I walked over to the window, I located the firearm, [VICTIM #1] stated Johnson had in his possession and was pointing at her. It was on the floor beside the mattress Johnson was lying on when I made contact with him. The firearm, a S&W SD9VE 9mm pistol(s/n:DVV4793) was listed as stolen and recovered. Johnson was found to be a convicted felon and as such a prohibited possessor of firearms.

[VICTIM #1] was given a crime victim rights pamphlet with the associated case number and reporting deputy’s information. Johnson was transported to the Bibb L.E.C. without further incident and turned over to booking staff to be processed into the facility.
